I can confirm this (annoying) behaviour. In my case I couldn't even
change the font when the special character was inserted in my document.
So I had a document in Times and special characters in Verdana (or the
likes). Is there a fix coming? I see this has already been reported in
March '07, and

Binary package hint: totem
When I load synaptics, and have the mouse over the search button when
it's starting up, the button does not become active. I have to move the
mouse away from the button, and move it back on the button to be able to
press it. (ubuntu gutsy, updated)
Public bug reported:
When I play a movie from my samba shared network drive, I can only view
it from the beginning. When I skip to the middle of the film, totem
starts to skip images, and seems not to be able to buffer the new part
of the movie correctly.

I can't see why this is not a bugreport. The button doesn't function
properly unless I move the mouse cursor away from it, and then back on
it. That doesn't seem to be intuitive, and I can't imagine it to be
default / intended behaviour. Maybe this is not synaptics, but GTK+
behaviour, but
Yup, I see the same thing (gutsy, totem-gstreamer)

Exactly the same here (also goes for the Add/Remove software dialog).
This is the first time I noticed, so I also reckon it is new behaviour.
So just to chime in, and stress the need to fix this. There's quite some
windows or dialog boxes when upgrading or installing software, and now I

Unzipping an archive that belongs to a series (and part 2 is not in the
same folder) pops up a password dialog. But the archive wasn't password
protected, just incomplete. I used the standard unzipping tool coming
