I'm not sure I saw it pass yet. But I wanted to note that removing the
network-manager and network-manager-gnome all together and switching
back to good old config files /etc/network/interfaces is a workaround

Same issue. When I tested before, I was testing a local connection (localhost).
When trying to actually use it over a dsl connection, things went terribly

Yes, this used to work with the bum solution. Afaik it worked because
qemu fired up kvm on start, I don't think actual parallel use of qemu
and VBox was available.
The fact that the bum solution doesn't work anymore in Lucid is quite
inconvenient indeed.

Hmm, some looking around has made me think this is an error in the qemu-kvm
packaging.
Removing qemu-kvm should remove the qemu-kvm upstart job (which actually loads
the module).
Qemu can run without kvm, but then it isn't using hardware virtualization. This
could be a solution for people only

Look I'm not opposed to progress, if I was, why on earth would I mind
installing a beta OS. But the concept behind progress is that there is
actual improvement. Changing things for no good reason is simply
unproductive.

recording. This somewhat fixed it for me.
Something extra that needed to be activated was external amplifier, I
think. It is still unstable as hell, changing the audio volume during
playback, triggers a loud static.

That's not entirely true. If you can live with the tab bar on the left
the buttons in the bottom an the menu on the top. You can just click on
the kaffeine tab in the tab bar. Then you just get a playing window
with the three mentioned features.
If you, like me, can't live with the missing
I have tested it a few times, mainly because some (partial distribution)
upgrades tend to ignore the locked version. The non double clicking of the
channels does not prove to be a reliable solution here.
Also the Kaffeine rewrite is missing some features I'm very keen on, like

I'm happy to participate in the beta improvement. In my opinion, the way
you find the most bugs is by using the beta as primary system. I don't
mind the beta hick-ups and I don't mind reporting them. But when I want
to sit back and watch some tv, or record a show, I would like it to
somewhat work.
I was able to fix it a bit.
* I had to comment out an existing eth0 connection.
* Add a new connection available for all users (which disappeared) using
nm-connection-editor running as root (with sudo).
* Then restart networking with the init.d script and NetworkManager with the
Upstart
I have the same problem now in Karmic alpha 64 bit.
Had to install phonon-xine-backend manually to fix first problem. (Cannot open
stream)
And now I'm getting this error and same console output. No playback at all,
even the first time (no zapping yet).
When I access the dvb tuner with xine-gui

A reboot allowed me to open one channel.

I'm experiencing the same problem.
To specify further, video backed by xine (like kaffeine DVB) don't experience
the problem immediately. When gstreamer backed video (Totem) is started, all of
it flips (both xine and gestreamer backed playback). Odd thing is, simply
starting the nvidia-settings

Updating to beta state has put me in the same situation of being to zap
a few times, while it works perfectly. Afterwords it returns the same

That's because virsh uses the root libvirtd and virt manager uses the userspace
one.
The same result is achieved by running virt-manager with sudo.
