Experiencing this on a HP D530 with an Intel Pro 3945ABG wireless
interface. My other Ubuntu machine has a Ralink RT2561/RT61 wireless
interface and is presently working fine under Karmic on the same
network. I am (foolishly) updating this to Lucid right now and will

Problems with menu buttons in Eclipse (SWT applications?) on Karmic 64 bit
In this screen grab, I am running the SpringSource tool suite. For the
demonstration, I attempt to create a new project. The Browse button is
dead - gets highlighted when clicked, no response. These applications
(Eclipse and derivatives) are not Ubuntu packaged, and are based on the
Eclipse 3.5
I have rebooted with the newest kernel update:

Minimalist xorg.conf that worked with the open source drivers in terms
of correct screen resolutions but had truly awful performance: My

No sound output through headphones, internal speakers work.

The freezes I initially reported occurred when I was moving large
folders between ext4 partitions (moves between partitions involve
deletes). When I am doing this kind of re-organizing, I usually have
several move operations going on concurrently. Could it be that the bug
is triggered more easily

I had experienced the same, and reported it at

my computer four times today.
The circumstances were the same all 4 times: I was copying large
directories between different ext4 partitions (using nautilus) when the
system

This one bit me a few weeks ago, but I did not know what had hit me.
Essentially, when running Virtualbox 2.1.4 (the binary .deb from
virtualbox.org, shame shame) AND fglrx [two crimes] AND copying large
amounts of data between ext4 partitions, my system would lock.
After hard resetting the
2.6.28-9.31 seems to have fixed this issue.

findings as I try stuff out. REINSTALLING hunspell-en-us also solves the
problem ie my docs can now be US English and the spellchecker works as
advertised. I cannot offer an explanation for this - it just worked on
my installation.

I found the cause of the strange behavior on suspend: atieventsd. I was
using fglrx on Intrepid. When I upgraded to the Jaunty alphas (presently
running with an empty xorg.conf - likely to be using the -ati xorg
driver), I did not disable atieventsd. Disabling it cures the
suspend/resume

2600). In lieu of describing it further, I will attach output from lshw

[HD 2600] Cannot enable desktop effects on Gateway M-Series Laptop
I need to note that this was an upgrade from Intrepid. I also upgraded
early last time (8.04-8.10 around the time of alpha 5) and had an even
longer list of troubles with the ATI card. I will try using a blank
Xorg.conf as suggested above by Dimitrios and report back.

I have a Gateway M-Series laptop (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 with HDMI; Intel
STAC92xx). I have been running Intrepid since the last alpha. Initially, sound
did not work at all - not unusual, for an early pre-release. When it finally
