On a self built machine, the grub install failed. was running a live
version of 18.04. Just after boot I clicked on the "install" icon and
followed the instructions. only deviation was to select a prepared
partition as it is being install on a multiboot system

In my opinion, the GCC fix should have been proposed for 8.2 (just
released), but it appears that it was not. We will work with the
community to get it backported for 8.3 in December. Meanwhile, could

When using nslookup for local machine names, the local DNS was being
ignored (not queried) and none of the local machines could be found.

For me, "apt-get remove libnvidia-gl-390" solved it. No idea how it came
to be installed, but for some reason the active EGL driver was nvidia,
and that interfered with the X start sequence.

Same problem here. After upgrading my laptop from Lubuntu 16.04 to
Lubuntu 18.04, there is no hardware acceleration anymore. AMD STONEY was
perfectly capable of this on the older release.

Could work around by installing 'git' instead of 'git-all'.
However, I don't understand why it says "Fix released" because nothing
has changed since 2015. It is still impossible to install 'git-daemon-

A patch was submitted to the Debian BTS concerning a similar type of bug
in xcolorsel.
