Credible help pages say you should avoid changing a password as root

I have 27 gedit document tabs open in 7 workspaces, 5 Firefox windows
with 65 tabs, 5 thunar windows/tabs, 4 terminal windows, 4 search

The quick fix is miraculous, really. You just type nm-applet on the
