the same, I experienced non-fluent video playback with the H264 codec

Using Gutsy on a Radeon 9700 I get the same behavor. X hangs when Compiz is
enabled and I have to reset the machine. Also X hangs sometimes even when I'm
not using Compiz at all.
Booting the Gutsy Live CD I get the same. When Gnome is starting, it gets
hanged when Compiz is started leaving me
It does set some parameters. It does not matter if it does this during
the boot process itself or as a part of another independent subsystem.

to stutter when I am trying to download bigger speed (4 Mb/s and more).
It stutters few seconds, TCP connections are interrupted for the moment
and then network comes back. It happend with Feisty and also now with
Gutsy.
I just started having problems with gdesklets after restarting my system
today. It worked right after the Feisty to Gutsy upgrade. My

I did a very stupid thing but it worked. I copied the directory with the
firmwares:
sudo cp -r /lib/firmware/2.6.22-14-386
/lib/firmware/2.6.22-14-generic
Now it works. The problem was, that the driver couldn't find the
appropriate firmware ipw2200-bss.fw, which was in the

I confirm this thing here on my Acer Aspire 5680 Laptop.
The application switcher window goes to the left and a bit down, for me, just a
bit after it shows.
It doesn't happen always but, when this behaviour begins, it doesn't end until
compiz is restarted.

really bad at this. I had a Samsung 80GB drive that under any OS would

* 'Option DRI off ' in the 'Device' Section stops the hard freezes
* You'll have to completely restructure your xorg.conf to use XRandR
instead of the Xinerama stuff.

Just to confirm - I'm having same problem as Aleksander and Sebastian -
also from Poland. This bug makes all date/calendar components useless. I
think it's connected with data/time format - evolution in Gutsy doesn't
like our locale settings.
