The shell script is trying to `cd` from /usr/X11R6/bin/ to ../lib/firefox/.
Because /usr/X11R6/bin/ is a symbolic link to ../bin this all should
resolve to /usr/lib/firefox.
However /bin/sh by default behaves differently and for this reason it is
recommended to use `cd` and `pwd` with the -P
Your '/var/log/syslog' file would be helpful in determining what is

Aaron, I was having the same issue with finch. Here's how I've solved
it: Firstly you need to open the sound preferences (e.g. with ALT + A).
Then you need to select the method Command. In the field Sound
command you need to put in the following: aplay -q %s (without
quotes).

7.10a couple of months ago and today I upgraded to
8.04. Before upgrading to 8.04, the update manager shows my system is up to

I have similar problems but I don't see any Xid errors. This caused
my system to lock up and then reboot itself:
