Same happens here on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 with:
Compiz + Gnome + FF 3.0.5 with or without Emerald.
I suspect all workaround are somehow crappy, as they have side effects.
On of these workaround will not allow to properly see flash movies
(maybe in full screen), other workaround don't work at all,
I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 8.10. Nikolaus is correct. Not only may
UUIDs be used to reference LVM volumes in /etc/fstab, this is the
default configuration in 8.10. I followed the instructions here
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EncryptedFilesystemLVMHowto) in order
to create a LUKS+LVM

My Logitech Internet navigator has similar issues. The leds for num
lock and caps lock are off (although the function of num- and

I'm sorry there is no option to disable graphic-cards in my bios (which
is the latest version V207), it's a very compact bios. I tried to

You _can_ file a bug without assigning it to a package, but then the
component would be just 'Ubuntu', and could be left untriaged for quite
some time.

I had the same problem. To solve it, I narrowed the search to the function
random_sleep.. It sleeps... 30 min

yes, dazuko does not work with 8.10 due to incompatibility with the
kernel version. there is a patch for 2.6.26, but not 2.6.27. i do not
intend to downgrade my kernel, just wait for a miracle to happen.
