I have installed and tested the new kernel 2.6.24-1 released as test.
In attach you have kernel.log dmesg.
All seams to function very well. ACPI doesn't hang the boot process and the CPU
is correctly scaled, too.
The problem is that these new alpha kernel/source are build with a new
gcc
It should build without problem, because the only changes are from
Ubuntu latest package to add missing includes.

I have found this to occur in Feisty.
I attempted to update the kernel to that in Gutsy - added Gutsy to the
repository list.
On rebooting, the boot stops at the point where it tries to mount the hard disc
(inferred from symptoms).

Trackpad didn't work with new user first time of use.
for me this problem is fixed in Gutsy ... but the synaptic scroll area
are not working on the second display

Just a small comment:
This happens to me with ps/2 Keybord and mouse too. A afterwards newly added
usb keybord and usb mouse works fine (not sure how long it will work though).
So it's not an usb only problem.
