I can confirm that the removal of the monaco font from my ~/.fonts
directory and a subsequent 'sudo fc-cache -frv' and a restart of firefox
cured the problem for me.
I would argue that this is still a bug though - a dodgy font should not
bring firefox to its knees.

First you need to be confirmed that you have all hardware requirements.
then again If the problem occurs, then try booting from "Safe Graphics
Mode" (2nd option in Live CD). I had faced the same problem before, I
corrected it by booting from "Safe Graphics Mode" and I installed Ubuntu

Just wanted to add a note that I had this problem upgrading to gutsy,
and my solution was similar to Antti's. An unconfigured libcap1 package
had prevented dhcp3-common and dhcp3-client from being configured
properly, and there was no message during the upgrade process to

Actually I am having the same problem too...

Update: I am able to ping/ssh into my computer from another computer on
the network. It appears that I am blocked only when my computer attempts
to connect to itself, either on loopback or the IP address attached to a
network interface.

The easiest fix would be to create 2 global bools that are set to true
once the error message they represent has been reported. Each nm_info
needs to be embedded within a if(!error_bool{1,2}) for instance. This
method would lead to each error msg only being reported once per
network-manager run.
