ERROR no room on ep ring fills up
With Ubuntu 11.10 it seems to be broken still.
I can load new tables using ir-keytable but it never registers anything
(not even unknown keys) from the imon device.
I'd love to use apport to add more info but Launchpads login procedure
seems to be broken in Links2.

Let me clarify my last post: I have the '0038' device and using the
original remote + LCD works fine. Loading and using a RC-6 MCE remote is
not working.
However, since manipulating the keymaps is working, I am starting to
wonder if my sources are correct and if the '0038' is able to decode RC6

1.9 version and left the nvidia driver at 270.41.06 and after dragging
Konsole across 2 monitors for 5 minutes I still didn't lock up!

I have the same issue, regularly.
It seems to happen under heavy load but I do not use VirtualBox: in my
case its the Xilinx tools during synthesis which seem to destroy the
audio output when the memory fills up (probably while its swapping).
Restarting the audio player usually fixes it.

It is not fixed but newer versions of Ubuntu use a newer kernel which
has the feature I reported in #50 (that log shows from which exact
kernel version it shipped).
So by doing nothing for two years the issue becomes obsolete... which
makes the existence of this whole bug reporting system useless
In general y I think that is true.
In this specific case however, the defect was part of an incomplete
driver which was part of the standard Ubuntu kernel. As upstream patches
for bugs are usually backported to the standard kernel of a specific
release and a 10 line patch was even supplied, this

After reading up I found out that the mainline kernels should be
installed by hand.
I am now using 3.4.0-030400-generic from the Ubuntu Kernel Team and the
error message no longer shows up!

The G15 has an LCD display, so its the same device and a single issue.
Where did you install gnome15 from, the Ubuntu repos or directly from the
website?

xhci driver is incomplete in the 3.2.0 kernel as shipped by Ubuntu. I
linked the patch in the upstream kernel which implements a missing
driver feature for devices using large data chunks on the USB bus.
