For some reason, building PK on Ubuntu's buildd leads to a strange daemon crash
(PkProc type is registered twice)
There is a workaround for this in PKs main development tree, as soon as PK
0.7.2 is out, it will work again (at least that's what I expect)

--verbose. Then repeat the steps and please attach the terminal output and the
contents of /var/log/apt/term.log to this bug.
It looks like aptcc is handling an error wrong or some debconf/conffile stuff
is blocking this.
Multiarch breaks it... I'll try to fix this on Debian and Ubuntu.

The PK APT backend is completely outdated, so this issues won't be fixed, I
guess.
You might want to switch to the APTcc backend (install packagekit-backend-aptcc
and set the DefaultBackend in /etc/PackageKit/PackageKit.conf to aptcc)

extras-keyring people say that everything is okay, I can give you some commands

Build-dependening on rarian-compat solves this problem. I merged this
Ubuntu-specific change with the Debian sources and attached a patch for Ubuntu.

Added a patch which sets LC_NUMERIC to C in LibProjectM itself. I was
unable to reproduce this bug (tried with three different locales, with
installed language packs), so this is merely a blind shot - Maybe this
solves this issue.

Oh, forgot to mention: This patch will be in Oneiric (- wow, strage
codename!). Natty is in FF at time, and I don't think the new revision would
get an FFe.

Solving this in PackageKit is a bit difficult: Ubuntu and Debian share the same
packaging, which is nice cause it's easy to maintain. Cause Debian has no
Firefox, I cannot simply depend on firefox-dev without breaking Debian
compatibility.
I'll wait for a nice solution (package NPAPI headers
@Micah Gersten: How can I make sure Ubuntu does not choose xulrunner-dev
then? (I haven't thought about this option first, I'm currently playing
around with firefox-dev | iceweasel-dev)

look how this is handled in Iceweasel and Firefox on other distributions and
then maybe change it, if the name is the same everywhere. (But I don't really
think this will be the case...)
