Are there any known workarounds that don't require manually restarting
nm-applet, the notification area, or the entire gnome-panel? Can the
applet be set to start up after a delay? Would that help?

I'm certainly not trying to sound like an insistent jerk, but it seems
like putting all notifications in the same place is more predictable
than dividing notes into classes that that won't be immediately obvious

A fix has been committed to git master. The fix should be released in
the next version of Banshee. If you can't wait, you can build from the

Just for the sake of clarity, it's safe to assume that this issue exists
in all versions of Banshee (including even the most recent packages for

I just closed the upstream report. This was discussed awhile ago[1],
and there were no intentions to support skinning. Banshee's look and
feel comes directly from the user's GTK theme (so it's skinnable in
that regard), and for the sake of consistency, I think the intention is
to keep it that
I disagree with the decision to close this (and move it to Ubuntu
Brainstorm). The problem is specific: text doesn't re-wrap when you
resize a Terminal window, and there is only one logical solution:
rewrap the text when the window is resized. I think this is a great
candidate for a wishlist bug
where ideas go to die.
Shame it tends to be that way, because there are definitely some good
ideas there.
Is it appropriate to reopen it, or would that be considered rude?

stick), the system is borderline unusable because of extremely slow
visual response. This was the case with a daily build that I tested

I'm pretty confused about this bug report. The bug for the Banshee
product is assigned to an upstream nautilus report (that is still open,
but hasn't received a comment in well over 2 years). The actual
