Kontact crashs at startup. I'm currently running edgy RC, but I think I
got the same problem during the two days I was using KDE 3.5.5 under
Dapper.
I'm using pim stuff over dimap. kmail alone works fine.

will test for some days and if things are ok I will makr this bug as

I would also like to see PAE enabled in default kernel. In my case, I'm
doing a lot of coding and I'm synchronizing my data between my desktop

Indeed there aren't, and my understanding is that the contacts stored in
imap are using the mail settings. Yet with the upgrade to gusty the
encoding of contacts is wrong while the one of mails is correct. On
feisty it worked fine.

Thank you for editing my post. I did not found the guidelines
previously, probably I failed to look properly.
The problem with the current front-end package is that it is useless
without the sampler engine itself. But the sampler engine .deb from the
linuxsampler web site uses a library

fglrx driver (2:8.600-0ubuntu2) crashes the computer when X loads. My

The same keyboard on another computer with the same feisty version works
fine. In addition, another USB keyboard (Microsoft Natural Ergonomic
Keyboard 4000) has the same problem with the computer producing the bug
and works fine with the other. The mainboard of the buggy computer is an

I've had it again with 3.5.5, I deleted kontactrc and the bug
disappeared. Until it reappears I can't tell you if it's still there on
3.5.6 (I was in a hurry I did not backuped kontactrc sorry)

kdm and remove /etc/kde4/kdm, and then to reinstall kdm. The result is
that now /etc/kde4/kdm is empty, albeit dpkg -L kdm shows files in
this directory. Could there be a bug in the install script somewhere?

How are you checking to see whether the SPDIF is usable/present?
The amplifier is on, it works under Windows. I checked with alsamixer,
aplay -l, qjackctl, kmix to make sure I was not missing any interfaces.
You shoudl also delete .asoundrc* in your home directory, as these
files are no longer
Here installing kde-workspace-bin did resurect the plasma-workspace
option in the menu, which lead to a successful login. I have no idea why
the kde-workspace-bin package was uninstalled.

I am the original author of Aseba, although currently not active in the
project any more. The lack of UI program is likely to be a result of a
broken dependency on Qt4 in 18.04.
