[Bug 52883] Re: Fan doesn't stop working on a samsung laptop
I think this bug should be marked as Important. Feisty is stable now, and this issue compromises the duration of certain laptop's batteries (letting alone that annoying continuous fan noise...). -- Fan doesn't stop working on a samsung laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/52883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 87244] Re: MASTER: no r5xx support in radeon driver (X1300, X1400, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950)

Confirmed also on Acer TM8204, Ubuntu Feisty, linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic. Fan doesn't stop, on idle battery holds up about 1 hour (on Windows Vista more than 2 hours). -- Fan doesn't stop working on a samsung laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/52883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 51315] Re: udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server
I didn't know there was a package updated in edgy-proposed. I tested it and it seems to work, login prompt appears quickly and LDAP users get authenticated but error messages like ``udevd[374]: nss_ldap: could not connect to any LDAP server'' still remain on boot-up process. -- udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server https://launchpad.net/bugs/51315 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 51315] Re: udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server
I'm very frustrated about that. Ubuntu is "free software and comes with no warranty", I understand... I'm not pretending this bug to be resolved immediatly, but at least it should be marked as CRITICAL or HIGH because it makes Ubuntu *unusable* on LDAP-authenticated networks! -- udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server https://launchpad.net/bugs/51315 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 85729] No Composite support
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx I know that fglrx is a closed-source driver and only ATI/AMD can solve this issue. But it is a huge issue, since users with ATI Radeon X1300-1950 series cannot use latest eye-candy wms. [Bug 68075] Re: Unknown ATI Video Card (X1000-series)
Bugs #70391 and #75412 were marked as duplicates of this bug, but I think there is a little difference: this bug is related to linux-restricted-modules package which offers closed source `fglrx' driver and supports ATI X1300 to X1950 series. I opened bug #75412 because package xserver-xorg-video-ati (open source) doesn't support those series. Yes, they work with `fglrx' driver but there is not DRI + Composite extension support, that's why I'm waiting for the support on the `radeon' driver in xserver-xorg-video-ati package! -- Unknown ATI Video Card (X1000-series) https://launchpad.net/bugs/68075 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Doing a "addgroup --system nvram" makes the: udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server error disappear, but my boot-time still remains abount 40 minutes long! [Bug 67810] bad hard disk noise on shutdown
Public bug reported: My system is a Acer TM8204 laptop, Intel Core Duo, HD SATA 120GB. My distro is Ubuntu Edgy.
