[Bug 1168030] Re: Apache2 with PHP FallbackResource doesn't work when Request-URI is / and encoding is gzip

2013-04-11 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Having "DirectoryIndex index.php" on the .htaccess file solves the
issue. It seems the default Apache DirectoryIndex is causing the problem
when index.php is not the first default index document.

[Bug 1168030] [NEW] Apache2 with PHP FallbackResource doesn't work when Request-URI is / and encoding is gzip

2013-04-11 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Public bug reported:

Installed packages:
apache2-mpm-prefork (2.2.22-6ubuntu2.2)
libapache2-mod-php5 (5.4.6-1ubuntu1.2)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Allow option override on /var/www
2. Remove /var/www/index.html
3. Create /var/www/index.php with any content (e.g. )
4. Create /var/www/.htaccess with FallbackResource /index.php
5. Go to http://localhost/any -> it works, index.php is called
6. Go to http://localhost/ -> empty response, something went wrong

Either disabling FallbackResource or gzip encoding solve the issue, so I
assume is the combination of the two to cause the problem.

[Bug 282236] [NEW] Problem exporting to Flickr from F-Spot

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

Although I can authenticate fine and F-Spot reports that I am signed in
in the Export to Flickr dialogue, I still cannot upload any of my

upload.

2008-10-06 Thread Giovanni Lovato
So, now that icons are homogeneous, I still wonder why this redundant
information... When I run Ekiga 3 + Empathy + User Switcher I get
*three* circular green presence icons, synchronized via d-bus. It's the
same information triplicated! I don't want to open a new bug, just know
if the choice is to keep three identical icons or maybe keep the
presence only in the User Switcher.

$ G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly  valgrind -v --tool=memcheck

After few minutes the program memcheck crashed. I attach the log results (may
incomplete due the crash).
I guess nm-connection-editor crashes when trying to save something to the
keyring, so the problem may be in NM <-> gnome-keyring interaction.

[Bug 245184] [NEW] [NM-0.7] nm-connection-editor fails to set/read certificates settings

2008-07-03 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

My versions:
[code]
$ dpkg -l | grep network-manager
ii  network-manager
0.7~~svn20080628t003601+eni2-0ubuntu0~pre1
ii  network-manager-gnome
0.7~~svn20080626t183232-0ubuntu0~pre1
[/code]

I try to elaborate a bit more on this problem: I removed all connections, then
clicked on the wireless network on the applet; it asked me to select protection
(I use TLS) and choose certificates. I did it and it connected successfully.
 On gconf I see:

[code]
$ gconftool-2 -R /system/networking
 /system/networking/connections:
  /system/networking/connections/1:
   /system/networking/connections/1/802-11-wireless:
mode = infrastructure
seen-bssids = [00:19:5b:3a:8d:8a,00:19:5b:3a:8d:87]
ssid = [84,101,108,112,101,114,105,111,110]
security = 802-11-wireless-security
name = 802-11-wireless
   /system/networking/connections/1/802-11-wireless-security:
pairwise = [tkip,ccmp,tkip,ccmp]
group = [wep40,wep104,tkip,ccmp,wep40,wep104,tkip,ccmp]
proto = [wpa,rsn,wpa,rsn]
name = 802-11-wireless-security
key-mgmt = wpa-eap
   /system/networking/connections/1/connection:
id = Auto Telperion
timestamp = 1215068924
type = 802-11-wireless
name = connection
autoconnect = true
   /system/networking/connections/1/802-1x:
nma-path-private-key = /home/giovanni/ssl/GiovanniLovato.pem
eap = [tls]
nma-path-ca-cert = /home/giovanni/ssl/AlduNetworkCA.crt
name = 802-1x
nma-path-client-cert = /home/giovanni/ssl/GiovanniLovato.pem
identity = Giovanni Lovato
[/code]

It seems correct to me, it connects after all :)
 Now if I run nm-connection-editor from a terminal and edit this connection,
from Security tab I see no certificates set:

http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/5049/screenshoteditingautotedn1.png

So, let's try to input the certificates. Once selected, immediately the
button OK return active, but I get

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5015/screenshotnmconnectioneay8.png

and the terminal says:

[code]
$ nm-connection-editor

(nm-connection-editor:24259): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_foreach: assertion

[Bug 192865] Re: cups manager hangs when there is no network connection

I confirm this bug on Hardy with cupsys 1.3.7-1ubuntu3.

[Bug 208401] [NEW] [Hardy] Printing on HP Deskjet 5550 or 6620 sometimes make the printer crash

2008-03-28 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hplip

After upgrading to Hardy, when I try to print a PDF on my HP DeskJet
5550 printer at the end of the first sheet the printer hangs and begins
to blink madly. I tried to print with Acroread and Evince, same problem
with both. I tried the same file on a Gutsy installation and the problem
seems disappeared. I tried also to print on another HP printer (DeskJet
6620), the problem persists. Printing to an EPSON printer it's all okay.

[Bug 156325] Re: New fglrx 8.42.3 to Gutsy

2007-11-28 Thread Giovanni Lovato
The fglrx versione 8.42.3 is on Hardy repositories.
For all those who want to run AIGLX-enables 8.42.3 fglrx driver on Gutsy, here
is the how-to:

Create a new file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d, for example
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list, and add hardy repositories:
deb http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy main restricted universe
multiverse

Then create /etc/apt/preferences with the following contents:

Package: *
Pin: release a=gutsy
Pin-Priority: 600

Package: linux-restricted-modules-*
Pin: release a=hardy
Pin-Priority: 650

Package: xorg-driver-fglrx
Pin: release a=hardy
Pin-Priority: 650

Package: *
Pin: release a=hardy
Pin-Priority: 300

Now do an apt-get update/dist-upgrade to install the new fglrx!

Maybe I'm redundant but some time ago I updated on my repository the

You could add my repository with:

deb http://packages.aldu.net/ubuntu gutsy main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://packages.aldu.net/ubuntu gutsy main restricted universe
multiverse

and then apt-get update/upgrade to get the patched NM.

[Bug 52883] Re: Fan doesn't stop working on a samsung laptop

Persist on Gutsy:

After 10 minutes of use (nothing heavy, just browsing the Internet) temperature
reaches 68.0 °C, the fan starts at the maximum speed (making a noise of the
hell) and people around me begin to ask me if my pc is about to lift off...

[Bug 115967] Re: sudo-ldap not working with ldaps

2007-05-21 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Founded another issue: when doing `sudo' as ldap user, SSL still doesn't
work:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo ls
LDAP Config Summary
===
uri ldaps://ldap.aldu.net/
ldap_version 3
sudoers_base ou=sudoers,dc=aldu,dc=net
binddn (anonymous)
bindpw (anonymous)
ssl (no)
===
ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_X_TLS_CACERTFILE,"/etc/ssl/certs/AlduNetworkCA.pem")
ldap_initialize(ld,ldaps://ldap.aldu.net/)
ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION,0x03)
ldap_simple_bind_s()=81 : Can't contact LDAP server

While the same as local user:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo ls
LDAP Config Summary
===
uri ldaps://ldap.aldu.net/
ldap_version 3
sudoers_base ou=sudoers,dc=aldu,dc=net
binddn (anonymous)
bindpw (anonymous)
ssl (no)
===
ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_X_TLS_CACERTFILE,"/etc/ssl/certs/AlduNetworkCA.pem")
ldap_initialize(ld,ldaps://ldap.aldu.net/)
ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION,0x03)
ldap_bind() ok

Permissions on CA certificate are ok, ldapsearches too. If I do `sudo'
as ldap user with `ldap' instead of `ldaps' it runs fine again.

[Bug 115967] Re: sudo-ldap not working with ldaps

2007-05-21 Thread Giovanni Lovato
I found the solution, the correct directive to specificy a CA
certificate file for sudo-ldap is:

TLS_CACERTFILE /path/to/cacert.pem

So my ldap.conf now figures so:

BASE dc=aldu,dc=net
URI ldaps://ldap.aldu.net
TLS_CACERT /etc/ssl/cacert.pem
TLS_CACERTFILE /etc/ssl/cacert.pem

SUDOERS_BASE ou=sudoers,dc=aldu,dc=net

It's absolutely redundant, so I think it would be nice to make sudo-ldap
reading CA certificate path from TLS_CACERT directive instead of
TLS_CACERTFILE.

[Bug 115967] sudo-ldap not working with ldaps

2007-05-21 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sudo-ldap

I'm getting:

# sudo ls
LDAP Config Summary
===
uri ldaps://ldap.aldu.net
ldap_version 3
sudoers_base ou=sudoers,dc=aldu,dc=net
binddn (anonymous)
bindpw (anonymous)
ssl (no)
===
ldap_initialize(ld,ldaps://ldap.aldu.net)
ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION,0x03)
ldap_simple_bind_s()=81 : Can't contact LDAP server

My ldap.conf is:

BASE dc=aldu,dc=net
URI ldaps://ldap.aldu.net
TLS_CACERT /etc/ssl/cacert.pem

SUDOERS_BASEou=sudoers,dc=aldu,dc=net
sudoers_debug   2

Simple ldapsearch goes fine, pam authentication too. Only sudo-ldap does not
work.
If I use "ldap" instead of "ldaps", sudo-ldap runs fine too.

2007-02-17 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx

I know that fglrx is a closed-source driver and only ATI/AMD can solve this
issue.
But it is a huge issue, since users with ATI Radeon X1300-1950 series cannot
use latest eye-candy wms.
Please go to http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/linux/linux-radeon.html and

[Bug 68075] Re: Unknown ATI Video Card (X1000-series)

2007-01-30 Thread Giovanni Lovato
Bugs #70391 and #75412 were marked as duplicates of this bug, but I think there
is a little difference: this bug is related to linux-restricted-modules package
which offers closed source `fglrx' driver and supports ATI X1300 to X1950
series. I opened bug #75412 because package xserver-xorg-video-ati (open
source) doesn't support those series.
Yes, they work with `fglrx' driver but there is not DRI + Composite extension
support, that's why I'm waiting for the support on the `radeon' driver in
xserver-xorg-video-ati package!
