I've now upgraded to Karmic, and the Evolution hanging problem is just
as bad. I get Filtering new message(s) (0% complete) every hour or so,
and I then have to:

Currently, g-p-m Voltage History is reporting a battery voltage of
1501.0V and Power History is reporting 90.0W, although

My problem was different. About 90% of the time, the filters run on new
mail as expected. Sometimes, without any reconfiguration, I start
Evolution and they just don't run. A killev and restarting Evolution
seems to fix it.

rhythmbox notifications - the text is sometimes truncated on the right
and at the bottom.
In the attached, the d and part of the n of 'sind' in the title are

I can report an improvement with WPA - 0.6.5-0ubuntu7/2.6.22-8-generic
reliably connects on the third attempt.
The first attempt (automatic at login) gives a prompt for my WPA key. If
I cancel this, then choose my network from the list, it connects
correctly without prompting (I use pam_keyring,
I'm also seeing this on Gutsy. iwconfig shows
eth1 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:Belkin54g
which is my neighbour's open access point, not my WPA one - I'm
currently connected by Ethernet from eth0, and there is no mention of

/proc/acpi/ac_adapter/*/state in unix.c:is_on_batt().

I have the same problem, running Feisty on my ACPI-equipped ThinkPad
X60, and on_ac_power works correctly for me once booted.
However, the problem seems to be that on an ACPI machine on_ac_power
checks for /proc/acpi/ac_adapter.
