New Apple iMac (Core i5) fails to display
Hey all! Maybe this could help.
I have been powering away for the last two weeks trying to get either 12.04 LTS

using the display port as the default output but reading through every post
most of you know this. On 12.04
This bug affects Ubuntu 10.10, Maverick Meerkat. Maverick has reached

If I remembre well, here is the source code : http://www.felipe-

I also found something interesting : I can boot LIVE lastest ubuntu (32

- Boot on ubuntu CD
Could you provide the source for backlight instead ?
i won't run an unknown binary !
There are two ways to get BIOS mode on latest imac :
* boot from CD, temporary, but simplest. You can boot from supergrub2 CD then
boot your hd partition, for example.
Or boot from ubuntu 11.04 live cd... is
Update : EFI problems are getting solved (might be merged in linux 3.0),
and radeon need to have a vbios loaded to make it happy :

There is /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness,
Kapouer : download this compilated code : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LBQDR1PG
Place it in your /usr/bin/ folder. Then, in a terminal, use :

Here's how to have radeon drm working (on imac 12,2 27 screen) :

Booting from CD is done in BIOS mode. There seems to be a way to set BIOS mode
