I tried intrepid alpha, but it hangs after the green fading starts. I also tried the 8.04.1 LiveCD, and with that the sound works. If fact, it might have worked just after upgrading to hardy heron as well, but only until reboot. How come it works off the LiveCD but not when the system is installed?
