I can confirm the bug described by Christoph Roeder.
Flickering occurs when I scroll Pidgin Buddy List, Firefox Browser. Bug happens
with XV-video output (i use Totem).
My videocard is mobile NVidia 8600GT, notebook Acer 5920g, Ubuntu 8.10.
Trying nvidia drivers:

- 180.06 (beta driver) -

I'm going to keep an eye on it, and if it is still fine, will reinstall
jaunty at the weekend, and test.
Perhaps I've always had an unstable clocksource, and there is something

to install a dictionary, and installing myspell and dict packages
doesn't work either. Anyone got a fix? If so, then please post. I'm

So...configuration was not automatic
It asks me to select a printer from the list, and when I choose the Brother

I've modified /etc/gdm/gdm.conf and restarted. Everything seems normal.
As an added bonus the locked screen feature is working.
I always thought that Xubuntu had terribly limited functionality, but
now it seems ok. Xubuntu even has a graphical file searching app (as of
8.10) which is called Catfis

vanilla 2.6.28.7. Or, at the very least, it reassociates. Been on the

Ok. Another "same-here". I tried everything. Downgrade bluez4 to bluez3
(hardy repositories). Compile bluez4 from source. Downgrade openobex
(and obex* packages). But nothing: no bluetooth common functions.

on /boot. I'm running software RAID so I had to put my /boot on a

show through. Don't recall even ever using gsynaptics..Oh well. Now, how
