LMS is a server. You need a client (a music player).
LMS does not play music, it just collects music, and manages its stock
and access, and distributes them to the actual music players (the
renderers).
The client receives the music from LMS and sends it wherever you want

I found Semtech EZ1585 should work for reaching 5 Volt out, but yeah, I
have no idea about electronics and more modifications will probably be
required. I'll try to find the old papers with the circuit diagram, etc.

The Raspberry Pi I have seems to be near its last days of living. Maybe
a bit early to conclude, but I get the yellow lightning bolt, and the
device reboots every now and then, seemlingly more and more often and I

Today I retrieved the SD-card and installed piCorePlayer 6.1.0 on it.
The player is back to working with the ApplePi DAC HAT board. I conclude
that something went amis during my in-situ upgrade to piCorePlayer
7.0.0

I incur that the lack of controls in alsamixer is indeed a problem.
Unless an alternative proposal shows up, I'll eventually get around to
disassembling the player and put piCorePlayer 6.1 back on the SD-disk.

Response from Orchard Audio is fast.
He said to try the RPi DAC - that doesn't change anything.
BTW, as something weird, when I SSH'ed into the player and ran alsamixer

Another option is to buy a USB cable with a switch. This is not fancy
stuff ... but I thought I'd mention this option here. There are severel
in the market with USB-micro (for Pi 3, etc) and recently this one was

README says audio threads are prioritized and scheduling changed to FIFO

I think that your chance of other file system support in piCorePlayer is
close to zero because piCorePlayer is meant to be a minimal system.

It looks nice, but just to ensure that everybody reading this realizes
the obvious - the case is made of aluminium, so it shields from
radiowaves, i.e. you can't use wi-fi or bluetooth. Since the USB port is
there, you can plug in some external wi-fi or bluetooth device, if
needed.
