Why would you need to have one? As for the Documentation List[s], I am already on 4 lists already. Also, I do not know if I will ever contribute to the creation/modification of any LibreOffice documentation, due to my brain injuries. Clear communication can be a problem at times when I deal with typing text. Three strokes will do that to a person. As for the documentation out there, I have the latest versions of the two available guides; Getting Started and Writer. Or at least the ones I find at http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/; and the WIKI page for documentation. The LibreOffice-NA.US http://libreoffice-na.us/ site is the testing platform for the LibreOffice North American Community DVD Project. Our group is creating DVDs that will service the needs of the following communities; Canadian, US-American, Mexican, and Latin American, including the Hispanic communities. Currently we have our English DVDs 99% ready for publication and are working on the Spanish language version [first draft is 50% +/- done] for those DVDs. The big advantage with our DVDs is the extras. These include as much documentation as we can find. Look at this link to see what we currently have for English; http://libreoffice-na.us/English/documentation.html What we really need now is Spanish language documentation, even if it is just the Getting-Started guide. Also we could use Spanish language extensions/add-ons plus sample files. Right now there is a big void in the Spanish language area of documentation, extensions, templates, artwork, and sample files. THEN we have to do it all over with our French DVDs, that are needed for French-Canada. So the question is what is the advantage of an Alfresco account and being on the documentation list[s]? I am on the Projects list[s], the International Marketing list, the US Marketing list, and the User's list. Would I really need to be on another one if I will not be able to contribute/create/modify the document files? and what about a video documentation? i think that there are people on the community that would like to try doing video learning videos and not a youtube kind of but a more official ones. Create a duplicate of the sheet containing the core data. Use VLOOKUP to dynamically duplicate the sheet. Then create a filter on each duplicate sheet. Each duplicate sheet is filtered based on a particular 'volgnummer'. Usually I put this value at the top of the file as a header. This works really well with small to medium datsets but can be slow with larger datasets. 3. For larger datasets consider storing in a database then use Base to import just the 'code' lines you want to each sheet. This is a bit more complicated and less portable, depending on the database used. Cheers Simon Hi, I recommend using Base for this. You are really trying to use Calc as a database; square-peg, round-hole. Proper database programs pull off this type of report really easily and it's even difficult to stop it producing things like this. With Calc (or any other spreadsheet program) you will get into all sorts complicated expressions that may or may not be compatible with other programs. Take the easier route and use Base even if the table is quite small at this stage. Base seems to prefer to have external tables to work from and can read the Calc spreadsheet as a table so all the programs will be happy to work with what you have already. Access (the MS database program) can also use external tables but Base is likely to be better. Sadly we don't have many database experts in LibreOffice at the moment (unless thousands joined while in was on the boat) but the OpenOffice forums seem happy to deal with any questions. Just say Base 3.3.2 or whatever rather than creating an issue about whether it is OOo or LO. The version numbers give a good clue to the right people without their bosses being any the wiser. There is no problem with this function if you use the installed LibreOffice. The problem is that you are passing the parameters to the PortableApps executable which is probably not passing it correctly to soffice.exe So, if you intend to use the Portable LOffice you need to report this to whoever is creating the portable version ;) -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/convert-to-command-line-option-on-Windows-tp2866363p2870459.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to users+h...@libreoffice.org Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

[libreoffice-users] LibO 3.4.0 b2 - Calc - colour of negative numbers
Hi, I have the 3.4 beta2 installed on my Mac. In LibO 3.3.2, I can choose the colour of negative numbers by changing the colour name between [ ] in the format code (Format Cells Numbers). #.##0,00;[RED]-#.##0,00 Because of the background, I changed the colour to [WHITE] instead of the default [RED]. When I open the same spreadsheet in LibO 3.4.0 b2, the colour returns to red, but the format code doesn't include the [RED] indication. #.##0,00;-#.##0,00 In fact, all the columns that I changed to white, are now red when the numbers are negative. I have to redefine all the columns concerned, in all the sheets of the file. [libreoffice-users] Download and International-sites buttons crash Firefox and Safari
Hi fromToronto, Canada: I am on a Mac Pro running OS X 10.6.6 and have been using OO. Because of Oracle's announcement I decided to took into libreoffice. Using either Firefox or Safari when I press either of those two buttons the browsers crash. Typing //www.libreoffice.org/download directly in the address field gives me a 404 page. This is 100% reproducible. I went on IRC and spoke with Sophi who suggested this be escaleted to the mirror group since that might be hte issue. Sophi gave me the direct server page and that works just fine. As a retired Mac developer and am willing to try and help diagnose. You can download *all* available documentation content (including stuff that's still in the pipeline and not yet published) from the LibreOffice Alfresco platform at http://alfresco.libreoffice.org or http://documentation.libreoffice.org David Nelson Exactly what is an Alfresco account? If you used Excel you would know what CohoMike is talking about. Excel allows to create a special type of Sheet named Chart where the only object is a Chart using data from one of the other Sheets. It is particularly useful when you have large spreadsheets with many tabs. It makes it easy to locate a chart and it is very easy to switch to/from this mode and to create Chart tabs. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Chart-how-to-tp2861232p2872396.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Crash log attached.
Hmm. My java -version is exactly the same as yours. My first install of OOO was 3.2 I think. May be you have some residual stuff from your prior OOO install. What if you rename your personal settings LO and OO directorys (.libreoffice in my linux home directory, not sure where on my mac) which would have carried settings over and see if LO can create an all fresh setup. May be some inherited setting is causing the crash (non-existant font or format). steve On 2011-04-28 15:25, Peter Teeson wrote: Good thought. Dumb thought, have you downloaded the correct version of LO? I am not sure, can you actually run a 32 Bit version of LO on a 64 Bit Machine? -- Cheers Simon Thanks Simon. Interesting point. My machine is a 2x 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (Nehalem) with 6GB 1066 MHz DDR3 RAM I have not done anything to make it boot into 64-bit mode. By default it runs a 32-bit kernel. Looking at the crash log some more it seems to be something to do with drawing and the ApplicationServices framework. I'll have to sleep now, mate, but tamara I'll try to setup a build to see if I can debug using Xcode. For tomorrow... In my experience when a Java VM baulks the errors provided are next to useless. Personally I would consider installing a 32-bit version of java then using LO Preferences point to the new version. If you can't shake the problem -- delete all versions of Java from your machine then reinstall the correct version for your machine, then point LO to that version. Take care to not what else may be using Java and may require a particular version to run. I presume the mate, but tamara... alludes to some sort of stereotype for Australians? Maybe mate but tamara? If its an apple on OSX 10.6.6 it should be running 64 bit, so your java should be correct. As I said it is exactly the same version as on my mac, mac book pro 64 bit. But then removing java and LO and clearing your home LO directory and reinstalling from scratch may clear things up.

Well I looked at the Custom install options and couldn't see any dictionaries to de-select there - did I miss something? Open up the item Optional Components. In there you will fine a whole list of stuff inclucing Dictionaries and Language Packs. It takes a minute or so, but there are two lists that you have to go through and deselect all the dictionaries and language stuff you don't want to install. Two? I have only ever had to deselect all of the other dictionaries, the language itself is usually only defaulted to install English. Or is there another one I've been missing that accounts for why the properties in 'Add/Remove Programs' still shows the hug string of every single language even though I only want/need English? It still normally installs a whole list of language packs, but doesn't use them unless you later request to change languages. -- Cliff -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to users+h...@libreoffice.org Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
