Sometimes when I try to install Fedora, Windows eats my installation USB stick. Fedora is distributed as a .iso (a CD/DVD image). This image is cleverly designed such that if you dump it, byte for byte, onto a USB stick (not into a filesystem), you get a stick that can be booted. I install by
