Apache OpenOffice
Hello, Hope all's well... Recently, when using the latest Apache OpenOffice, version 4.1.15, on my MacBook Pro, OS Sonoma 14.2.1, if I set a Text Document paper format as Letter size with 0.75" margins and saved it as a Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc), when next I opened it, the paper format was A4 with .79" margins. In an attempt to cure it in the Preferences, text which was in color now displays in black only. Any suggestions? Thank you, Martin H. Samuel

Mein OpenOffice ist 4.1.15. Ich habe es auf meinem PC installiert. Ich kann aber nicht wircklich die Englische Sprache . Ich möchte es auf Deutsche Sprache haben. Wie kann ich das ändern?

Changing the interface just to make it fashionable is a very bad trend. The package is to be useful, easy to use, and such superficial changes are spoiling tools. Some of us like CUA menus. A properly designed user interface that can be navigated with mouse clicks or (for me, most of the time) keyboard shortcuts. EG alt-f then using the cursor Keys. If the UI is revamped, that is the day K will stop using AOL. Yeah, newer interfaces might look flasher, but are they actually more useful? Can you navigate them with hotkeys and the cursor keys (arrows)? I would like to hear any usability arguments... Durch ein pop-up Fenster bei Nutzung meiner bisherigen deutschen Version von OpenOffice, mit der ich schon jahrelang sehr zufrieden bin, bekam ich die Info, dass ein Update auf die neuere Version 4.1.15 verfügbar sei. Dieses Update habe ich durchgeführt, bekam dabei aber nur die englisch-sprachige Version zu sehen. Und es gelingt mir nicht, diese in die Sprache "Deutsch" abzuändern. Heute habe ich deshalb von der Website von Apache noch einmal ein Update durchgeführt. Und auch die dazugehörige heruntergeladene .exe-Datei aufgerufen. Alles in deutscher Sprache. Wenn ich nun das Programm OpenOffice ausführen möchte, wird mir aber wieder nur englischer Text als System-Sprache angezeigt. Ich bitte um Hilfe eines erfahrenen Nutzers! Receive message box: Please exit OpenOffice 4.1.15 Quickstarter before you continue. if you are using a multi-user system, also make sure that no other user has OpenOffice.1.15 open. When the OK or X on this box is pressed it brings up the Finish screen which says: The wizard was interrupted before OpenOffice 4.1.15 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. This is not exactly true, as now I can not open OpenOffice 4.1.14, as I get a OpenOffice 4.1.14 - Fatal Error. A general error occurred while accessing your central configuration. Schön dass du eine Lösung gefunden hast. Zu Gimp: er kann natürlich in allen möglichen Formaten speichern, nicht unter dem Menü Speichern, sondern Exportieren. Was ganz anderes: ich habe entdeckt, dass Openoffice Draw wunderbar in dem alten Format WMF speichert, ohne jeglichen Verlust, diese lassen sich dann in Writer importieren. On Sat 16. Der kürzeste Wordaround für mein Problem scheint also zu sein: Das fälschlich in OpenOffice quer einfügte Bild in einem Programm wie IrfanView einmal nach links drehen und speichern, dann wieder nach rechts drehen und speichern, dann lässt es sich korrekt im Hochformat in OpenOffice einfügen. Problem gelöst - trotzdem schade, dass OpenOffice nicht selber auf die EXIF-Daten der Ursprungsdatei zurückgreifen kann (bzw. das verlernt hat, denn meiner Erinnerung nach hat das früher geklappt). Ich hab mir mal die Mühe gemacht und Gimp installiert, eine Anwendung, die ich noch nie genutzt habe (ich nutze normalerweise IrfanView - und hatte bisher noch nie solche Probleme mit der Einfügung von Grafikdateien in OpenOffice). In Gimp stellte ich fest, dass das mit meinem Smartphone erstellte Foto offenbar im Querformat gespeichert war, aber Exif-Daten enthielt, die auf dem Smartphone und auch in IrfanView und anderen Bildanzeigen auf dem PC eine Hochkantanzeige ermöglichten. OpenOffice kann allerdings anscheinend diese Exif-Daten beim Einfügen einer solchen Datei nicht (mehr?) lesen bzw. berücksichtigen. Eine Umwandlung des jpg-Fotos durch Gimp hat aber mein Problem auch nicht gelöst. Zunächst einmal kann ich in Gimp das rotierte Foto nur im xcf-Format abspeichern. Die Einfügung dieses Bildes klappt aber nicht: OpenOffice meldet den Fehler "Unbekanntes Grafikformat". Als ich dann das xcf-Bild ins jpg-Format exportiert habe und in OffenOffice einfügen wollte, kam die Fehlermeldung: "Grafikfilter nicht gefunden". I'm not sure that there is an archieve for previous answers to questions but I seem to remember there was a fix for Open Office when using Windows 11. I'll look to see if I saved that post. Es ist nur eine Idee, die Ihr gefahrlos ausprobieren könnt: OpenOffice legt ein user-Verzeichnis an, welches man nach beendetem OpenOffice versuchsweise umbenennen kann. Nach einem erneuten Start wird OpenOffice ein neues Verzeichnis mit identischem Namen anlegen. Falls nach dem Neustart von OpenOffice Eure Probleme beseitigt sind, so könnt Ihr aus dem umbenannten Verzeichnis wichtige Dateien in das neu angelegte kopieren (z.B. ein persönliches Wörterbuch). Im MacOS findet man das user-Verzeichnis im folgenden Pfad (hier in Sonoma 14.1.1): [Festplattenname]/Benutzer:innen/[username]/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice/4/user Bei Windows muss der Pfad ähnlich lauten. Das Verzeichnis "user" kann man ohne Sorgen z.B. in "user_alt" umbenennen. Ich finde, dass es einen Versuch wert wäre. Falls sich für Euch kein Erfolg ergibt, könnt Ihr das neu angelegte Verzeichnis löschen und das alte wieder umbenennen. Hallo an alle AOO User. Ich brauche Eure Hilfe. Eigentlich bin ich ein versierter AOO user. Aber nun stehe ich doch etwas auf dem Schlauch. Ich habe meine Windows Schriften mit A+System Font Size Changer angepasst, bin aber dann doch wieder auf die Standard Schriften von Windows zurückgekehrt. Aber seit diesem "Versuch" sind nun die Tabellenregister auf dem Calc unten nur noch als mini mini Register zu sehen. Ich habe schon alles in den Einstellungen Ansicht und Extra Anpassen versucht, aber die Register bleiben einfach nur minimal zu sehen. Kann mir jemand helfen, damit ich diese Tabellenregisterblätter wieder in normaler Größe sehen kann. Screenshot liegt bei. Hoor net dat er een afbeelding bij zat. Die worden echter door de server verwijderd. Op de afbeelding staat de "Snelstarter" nog als actief afgebeeld in de Taakbalk van Windows. Die zul je eerst uit moeten schakelen voordat je een nieuwe versie kunt installeren. Klik met rechts op het pictogram van die Snelstarter en kies SnelStarter afsluiten. Ik ga er maar even van uit dat je Windows gebruikt? Kan zijn dat de installatiebestanden zijn verwijderd waardoor 4.1.14 niet goed wil installeren. Kijk eens bij de Instellingen > Programma's verwijderen of 4.1.13 daar nog staat. OpenOffice Update
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren. am heutigen Tag meldete mein Laptop für Ihre Software ein Update gemeldet. Ich stimmte dem Download zu. Nach der Beendigung des Update Vorgangs öffnete das Programm meinen Browser. Nun zu meinem Problem damit!!! Ich habe damit das Problem das meine gesamten Fenster und gespeicherten Tabs vom OpenOffice Updater gelöscht wurden! Was soll das denn bitte? Wieso hat der Updater das gemacht? ... hallo und guten Tag ! Ich weiß nicht, ob ich hier an der richtigen Adresse bin. Aber ich habe ein Problem mit OpenOffice. Seit ein paar Tagen kann ich die Dokumente, die mit OpenOffice erstellt wurden, nicht mehr aufrufen. Es erscheint die Meldung: "der angeforderte Vorgang erfordert höhere Rechte" Mit dieser Meldung kann ich gar nix anfangen. Weiß jemand von Euch Rat ? Oder kann mir jemand Hilfe vermitteln ? Abseits von Debian: Auf dem Mac sind die Schriftgrößen der Menüs von anderen professionellen Programmen wie Logic, Da Vinci u.a. exakt gleich groß wie diejenigen von OpenOffice bei 100%-Einstellung. Menüs und Icon-Beschriftungen im GUI dieser Programme sind auf meinen 4-K-Monitoren zuweilen mühsam zu lesen. Wenn Du größere Schriften in den Menüs brauchst, wirst Du wohl die Auflösung des Monitors verringern müssen. Über das Design im Stil von MS Office 2000 könnte man vielleicht noch hinwegsehen. Aber die Schriften in den Menüs z.B. sind so klein, daß sie praktisch nicht mehr lesbar sind. In allen Fällen ist das komplette Paket für OpenOffice, einschließlich der Desktopintegration, installiert. There were pieces of an old version of OpenOffice lurking in my system. I removed them and reinstalled OpenOffice (from https://www.openoffice.org/) and OpenOffice is working now. IF you are using Windows you may be experiencing a problem I have had over the past 6 months or so. To get OpenOffice to open its apps again, try this: While holding down the Ctrl and Shift keys, press the Esc key to open Task Manager. Under Background Processes, scroll down and look for instances of OpenOffice. Right-click on each instance of OpenOffice and, in the list that opens, left-click on "End task". When all of the OpenOffice instances are gone, close Task Manager. Now your OpenOffice should be able to open the app -- at least for awhile. Every now and then I have to repeat this, but it is quicker than re-starting your computer. OpenOffice funktioniert nicht mehr
Hallo, guten Tag, ich habe schon mit OpenOffic 4.1.13 gearbeitet. Aber dann hat es nicht mehr funktioniert und ich habe versucht die neue Version herunter geladen. OpenOffice 4.1.14 hat nur ein paar Tage funktioniert. Aus diesem Grund wollte ich es von meinem PC (Windows11) entfernen. Ich bekam die Fehlermeldung : Bitte beenden Sie OO 4.1.14 u. den Schnellstarter stellen sie sicher, dass kein anderer Benutzer OO 4.1.14 geöffnet hat. Aber es ist keine Datei geöffnet. Dann habe ich versucht OO 4.1.14 neu zu installieren. Jetzt bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung : Die Anwendung kann nicht gestartet werden. Ein genereller Fehler ist bei Zugriff auf die zentrale Konfiguration aufgetreten. So im Moment kann ich nichts tun und OpenOffice nicht mehr nutzen. Was ist zu tun??? Über Hilfe wäre ich sehr dankbar. Fortsetzung meines OpenOffice Installationsproblems
Vermutlich zufällig habe ich inzwischen auch auf meinem Problem-PC eine lauffähige OpenOffice-Version. Ich hatte OpenOffice auf einem weiteren Arbeitsplatz installiert und danach das dort unter C\Programme (x86)\OpenOffice 4.1.14 stehende Verzeichnis auf einen USB Stick kopiert, um dieses Verzeichnis dann bei dem Problem-PC in eben dieses C\Programme (x86)-Verzeichnis zu kopieren. Danach war die Installation mittels Setup-Datei (aus OpenOffice 4.1.14 Language Pack (German) Installation Files) ohne Problem zu installieren und alle Programmmodule funktionieren !!!). Danke trotzdem für alle bisher erfolgte Zusendungen mit Hilfe-Tipps Günter Köhl
