My QUESTIONS are:
1. What is a Master Document, and when would one use one?
2. I use Templates a lot - is a Master Document similar to a Template?
3. How could I have made a Master document without knowing it?
4. Why can I select a single field in the Master Document, but not
Select All?
5.
I was formatting a wedding ceremony for my wife and decided to copy the
title page from a previous wedding, editing the names, date, and venue.
So, I had my OOo Writer 2.3.1 new document, as well as the old one, tiled on

All the sub-documents were originally one document, so I believe they
were created with the same template. What I did was copy the original
document 10 times, then refer to separate sections of it in the master

Hi James,
A Master Document is basically a collection of 'child' documents, with
arrangement and maybe some extra text or a table of contents/index.
The advantage comes when you've got two similar documents that need to
be kept up-to-date... you can put all the information in child documents
A template is a document with a standard layout and contents that you want to
have as a base to work from. Mostley this will be text where you have to fill
in some details that a different in your specific situation.
A Masterdocument is like a folder. When you open it, it is presented as a
