[SOGo] Tuning SOGo Server
Hi, currently our webserver hosting SOGo shows a load of 6 and cpu usage close to 99% 100% with six sogod processes at top. This is a VM with 8 GB RAM and 4 2.2GHz AMD CPUs / Cores assigned. The Storage is a 2 Gb ISCI RAID 10 on 12 Disks. From the config: SxVMemLimit = 512; WOWorkersCount = 10; WOListenQueueSize = 10; Are there any general optimization you can think of? [SOGo] SOGo 2.3.3 - Subscribing users to own Calendars at sharing dose not work anymore
Hi, I noticed that the subscribing of users to a calendar I own dose not work any more as expected. E.g. I add a coworker to my office calendar and set the ACL and than check the "subscribe User". The coworker gets am email, that I addedt him to and shared a folder. But that folder (= calendar) dose not shows up in the SOGo Calendars overview, neither dose it shows up on clients with Caldav accounts accessing SOGo. All checket on Mac OS X 10.10/11. The Coworker has to add the calendar by hand in SOGo and after that check (enable) the delegation config in Apple Calendar. Than the calendar shows up. What may be wrong? [SOGo] delegation of ACL management
Hi, I have a master user owning +- 40 calendars so the URL will not change over time. There are editors for each calendar with rw permissions; they come and go so the URLs would change. Is there a way that those editors also may edit the ACL so that they might add an other user with write permissions? If not is that worth a feature request? :) Thanks for feedback . Hi, I noticed that on OS X 10.11.1 I cant configure a CalDAV Account; there is the error: Accountname/Password could not be verified in the calendar dialog. I dont see anything in the OS X console log nor do I see anything on the sogo server logs. Is that a known problem? Any solution yet? I found some postings in google regarding CardDAV servers (like owncloud) and OS X 10.11 problems. With systems updating from 10.10. to 10.11 with connections/accounts already configured, there is no problem. Thanks for feedback . Hi, I have sogo 2.3.1 on a centos 6.7 Server. One sogod process (pid 15613) is close to 100% for hours now others are around 0.5% ...but that 100% one is not the oldest. Hi, just a short question: To use Outlook with SOGo I do need the samba/OpenChange features installed? (Share calendars etc ...) Can I use an existing Samba 4 AD installation for that? Hi, may be. But what for if you use an directory service. If you use a central authentication system like LDAP/AD, I would like to configure the policy there. Not on the service side like SOGo or samba. Why? Imagine you set a policy in SOGo which should be different from fileservices or may be radius ... which all sync/ask your directory. That would make no sense. One pass, one policy, one auth backend, multiple services. chhers . [SOGo] Survey - Who uses SOGo (and why not exchange)
Hi folks, we are in a review process why we decided to use SOGo and why we are not using MS Exchange. We would like to emphasise our arguments with some use cases and numbers from other users. So it would be great to get some numbers from you like how many users at your site use SOGo, what kind of company / institution are you and what are your reasons in short why you use SOGo. May be you have some arguments why you do not use MS Exchange? Or any other Groupware. E.G. we came from HORDE and we primarily have linux in our server environment. Postfix, dovcot. We support multiple desktop operation systems like Windows, OS X, iOS. Currently we have about 600 users. Hi, we had to restore some user data and I did restore a calendar with sogo-tool restore. After that, the user told me that he misses the ACL. Hi, I have tested the free busy feature with the following setup: user A invites users B and C. In the SOGo Interface, A sees the free busy time of B but not of C. B and C share a team calendar, and both have appointments in that team calendar during the time the test appointments should be. This calendar is included in the free busy time calculation of B and C. The owner of that team calendar is B. SOGo 2.2.17a. Any ideas what might be wrong? Why is the busy time of C not included? Apple Calendar refreshes its calendar list from SOGo and finds the removed one. Then it happily subscribes to it. That's how Apple calendar works. It always synchronizes and shows all calendars. With other words, you can not delete a calendar in SOGo with Apple calendar. You have to delete it in SOGo webinterface instead. Hi, recently some users complain, that there sogo calendars do not sync/show up in the used way. In Thunderbird the ! sign shows up on some calendars. Today I did a update to the most recent TB / Lightning on my office Mac and voila - same problem. I do get the ! and some dates dont show up. I than can manually sync (drop down) the calendar and the dates show up. [SOGo] sogo login takes way too long after update - may be somthing different is wrong, but ... sogo 2.2.10
Hi, recnetly i updatete our sogo from 2.2.9 to the most recent 2.2.10. I noticed some warnings No child available to handle incoming request so I increased the PREFORK to 20 in /etc/sysconfig/sogo Today some users tell me, that sogo is gone slow since we did the update, and true: Logining in takes op to 10 seconds, average is 5 and it was close to 1. From cpu load, memory etc I dont see any bottleneck, the same on the mysql or mail server. They run quit smooth. dmesg shows some segfault of the sogod, but not on a regular base Any idea what I might check? Regards . Hi, we have about 1.000 users but just a few (+- 100) use sogo as mailclient. The most users use the calendar app. Since some days, we see a lot of No child available to handle incoming request and the webpage cant be accessed. Currently I have WOWorkersCount = 15; I updateted today from 2.2.9a to 2.2.10, and it is still the same situation. Any suggestions? [SOGo] strange maildir dovecot sogo syncing ... problem
Hi, we have one user who messed up his account. As we use maildir, this sounded not like a big issue. I moved the users broken maildir, he logged in again by sogo, logged out directory structure is generated. I copied the old mails into his new folder, he logged in again, the mails are moved from new tu cur folder, but ... - sogo says there are 31 mails (should be 177) - sogo dont displays any mail, but I can scroll the inbox and click on some white empty space and get the popup the selected mail dose not exist Question: What might be broken? Hi, we have a openldap system for user authentication with ntlm and posix passwords. Is SOGoPasswordChangeEnabled capable of changing both passwords at the same time? If yes, what do I have to configure. If not, why not :) ? Is this a sogo feature not yet implemented/requested? Or by design? The last time I checked, it just changed the users posix password. [SOGo] Where can I see, why I can see a calendar?
Hi, my user id is also defined as admin in SOGo, but I cant see all Calendars as far as I know. Because of some debugging, I checked some accounts. To my surprise, I can see and access a calendar from a user I know that I will not be subscribed to! In the Sharing settings I see some other coworkers with rights to read or edit, what is correct. Public and authenticated users are forbidden to see anything. But my user dont show up in that sharing list. SO how could that happen? Any ideas? Regards . [SOGo] Wohoo ... SOGo, Apple Calendar and surrogate rules I do see all calendars
Hi, we have a central user owning about 50 calendars in SOGo for all courses of our students. Every Student can subscribe to any calender he likes. Some stuff members and other are defined in the ACL of each calender as r/w everything users and subscribed to. Now a coworker using Mac OS X 10.7.x complains, that he can see the calendars in SOGo and can edit appointments, but in Apple iCal he only sees his own SOGo CalDAv subscribed Calendars. So I subscribed the same calendar with OS X 10.9 and after some time (sync window) the calendar shows up. O.K. This might be a bug in iCal or SOGo? But what I'm more worried about: In Apple Calendar I can set in the Account Setting third options Stellvertreter surrogate that I like to show all calenders of the specific user owing all student courses calendar with r/w access. And that works. May be that's, because I'm defined as SOGo admin? Can someone explain to me what is happening? What we want: Students can read calenders, some defined people can only edit the calenders they are allowed. regards . [SOGo] Apple iCal 7.0, DAV property .... has no matching SQL field and Apple Internet-Accounts OS X 10.9.2

I added my sogo account to a new mac book with os x 10.9.2 and iCal 7
using the Internet Account systemprefs tool.
All sogo calenders show up and looks good so far.
On the sogo-2.2.2-1.centos6.x86_64 server I do get some Errors in the logs:

Hi, an user told me that he cant find an others users calender to subscribe. The user he is searching for has just an posix account in our LDAP, as this user should not be listed in other contexts where we e.g. search for persons. [SOGo] How to add serverside filtering SOGo and dovecot-1.2.17
Hi, can someone kindly explain to me in short terms how the SOGo serverside filtering should work? I found some how tos and of course the dovecot documentation, but how to put all the pieces together? We still dont use sieve on the dovecot-1.2.17 server, so I still have the commented dovecot configuration. is it that simple, just enable managesieve protocols and lda on the dovecot side ant add the SOGoSieveScriptsEnabled and SOGoSieveServer on the SOGo Server? [SOGo] How to share global calendars after deactivating/deleting an account
Hi folks, today I was asked how to implement a group or company wide calendar which is readable by all students and edited by a few coworkers. This can be done by r/w access rules, but who is publishing the calendar? AFAIK a caledar can only be published by his owner, but what happens when that coworker/owner leaves the company and the account is deleted? O.K. the calender can be copied and imported by an other coworker, but than the URL to the calender also changes. That's bad for my point of view, as that way, about 100+ Users have to change there subscription url ... Or do I miss something? How do you solve that? One thought is, to have a group or department account managing the special calendars, so the url will stay the same. Suggestions, hints and thoughts are welcome! Regards . [SOGo] HTML E-Mail signatur from SOGo
Hi, may be that's a bug or feature or just life :) I have added a html signature using a special font and size for testing as my sogo signature. The signature is added and the mail send as html from the sogo webinterface, but in thunderbird or google mail, the signature font is not used. It looks like some sort of default font is applied. In thunderbird I checked my settings and I do allow mail defined fonts and to show messages as original html. The plain message text also shows the font, which is actually installed on my apple mac. Hi, just wondering if it is possible to add file attachments to invitations? From Lightning/SOGo I see that http... URLs can be selected, but why ... [SOGo] cant get carddav to work
Hi, Sogo Webfrontend and caldav (thunderbird/apple ical) are working fine (beside the pop up problem in the frontend with firefox). Also subscribing to and using calendars with ios (iPhone / iPad) is fine. When it comes to the restore/migration part:
- you install clean SOGo
- sogo user source restore depends from your deployment
- restore SOGo config (from config made above):

[SOGo] Problem with busy time in Thunderbird - how to report
Hi, I noticed a problem when inviting people to an appointment from thunderbird/Lightning. The busy time just flashes up when you enter the name to search for or when you move the time frame for that appointment. And I was shown as busy in my own calender knowing I'm free. Hi dear folks, an user asked me today if sogo is working reliable with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes invitations form such systems and if Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange users will be able to accept sogo calendar invitations. [SOGo] What happens with SOGoPasswordChangeEnabled = YES
Hi, I'd like to tune our SOGo instalation and changing the userpassword from there would be nice. So I enabled SOGoPasswordChangeEnabled and can change my password. After that I cant login with my old password on my email clients. Good. I can login with the new password to SOGo and my mailclient. Good. But! As we use posix and samba accounts in our LDAP directory the ntlm password is not changed. And after resetting my password with the smb-ldap tools to my original one, I cant use that one with SOGo. I still can login to SOGo with the changed password, but I dont get any mailfolders May be somewone can explain me what happens? Thanks and regards . [SOGo] How To migrate SOGo from one server to an other / database migration
Hi, after testing SOGo we decided to go live on a live system. (One webserver, one database server.) After installing and copy the modified configuring of SOGo I wanted to migrate the mysql database. In the dumpfile I do see a lot of entries referring to the tests setup e.g. mysql://sogo:secret@localhost:3306/sogo That confuses me, as think, this will not work with the new LIVE database server? Hi, we do have a running SOGo 2.0.3a test system with some basic configurations. For the LIVE system we like to have sogo running as a virtual apache host and secure as much as possible by using ssl. And there is the request to use nearly all possibilities that SOGo offers; that means calendar and addressbook sync to iphones too :-) We run Centos/Red Hat 6.x servers and may be somewone has an working configuration example to share? I found some wiki docs etc, but putting all pieces together by my own is a bit complex. Thanks for any help and best regards . [SOGo] Reminder in Thunderbird but not in SOGo with group calendar and other problem
Hi, may be this was discussed somewhere, but I did not find anything related yet: I do have created a calendar for our department in sogo and allow my coworkers to add and edit appointments. Now I can see the appointments in Thunderbird/Lightning 17.0.2, see that there is a reminder 30 Minutes ahead of the appointment, but do not get any notification. In sogo I dont see that there is a reminder set at all. One other coworker added the calendar to his Thunderbird/Lightning 17.0.2, get the data loaded and reminders pop up. But he cant close the reminders, he can only close the reminder window. Than the calendar is marked as offline. If he tries to close a reminder he gets the error MODIFICATION_FAILED Servre Replies with 403 May be someone has an explanation? Any suggestion is welcome. sogo-2.0.3a-1.centos6.x86_64 Regards . Hi, sorry for the noise; I had to edit the ACL for the calendar from the web frontend. Now users can accept the reminders and modify calenders. Or did I mix up something? Regards . [SOGo] Suggestion for best practice calender usage/roll-out
Hi, we plan to roll-out SOGo to our users soon and we do have to consider different thought, knowledge and wishes from all users to manage calendars. My question is, what are your experiences, pros and cons to handle and use calendars? E.g. I was thinking of personal/privat calenders per user, calendars for groups/departments and calendars for all (like holidays). But now, where to put what kind of appointment? E.g. two members of our department have a meeting, so put that in the department or private calendar? For me not taking part in that meeting there is no need to know when, where and topic etc Or is the calender management always different? There isn't just one way of doing it. Right? [SOGo] Suggestions on what to ask/report where ....
Hi, I'v installed the recent release SOGo 2.0.1 and we try a lot of things like sharing calendars, different browsers etc. Currently we'r faced with some question which I can't categorise into 'wrong configuration', 'bug' or sort of 'is that the way it is'. 1. The context popup menu for changing existing calendars seams to be broken in Firefox 16.0.1 Mac OS X. I can't access 'Properties' and 'Sharing'; Safari Chrome work on the same Mac. The other topics New/Delete/Export/Import Calendar work. Doubleclicking the Calendar opens the popup for Properties/Links. 2. I have shared one calendar with my coworkers; currently they can see the appointment (time, description invited people etc.) I have set a reminder which will pop up e.g. 15 Minutes before the event and so it pops up also on the coworkers calendar app (Thunderbird/Lightning) But he cant close that reminder or set an own reminder time because he has no right to change the object. Errorcode MODIFICATION_FAILED Status-Code 403. The access right to the calendar is public/confidential/private : View All. May be that's by design ... I'd expect, that I can publish a calendar and subsribers can also set there own reminders on appointments; some need one hour I'd liek 15 minutes But they should not be allowed to change the whole appointments or reminder time for all invited people. [SOGo] yum update from 2.xbeta nightly to release - How to?
Hi, I installed sogo 2.x from sogo-nightly-rhel6 pre release. Now if I do a yum update with the sogo-rhel6 repo, I just get updates for sope49. And if I do a rpm -Uvh sogo-2.0.1-1.centos6.x86_64.rpm i get that the installed beta is more recent. Currently sogo-2.0_20120917-1.centos6.x86_64 is installed. If I do a yum against the sogo-nightly-rhel6 repo I do get offered the sogo-2.0_20121011-1.centos6. May be there is some mess regarding the versions/repos on my system? How do I update/migrate to the stabel repo? Thanks and best regards.
