Hi list,
I hope this is the correct list, I have no idea whether this is a qmail
or vpopmail issue. Please direct me to the right list, if I'm wrong here.
On our mailserver, qmail 1.03 / vpopmail 5.2.1, we host multiple virtual
domains and some customers would like to forward their email-

How are people on this list using POP before SMTP
(Roaming users) when their POP3 server is separate from their SMTP
server? The way that I understand that roaming users work is that once
you pop in and check mail, the POP3 server rebuilds the tcpserver cdb file with
the users IP address
Hi,
version: vpopmail 5.4.2
file: vpgsql.c
option: --enable-roaming-users=y
It doesn't update tcp.smtp.cdb after pop3 auth.
(clearopensmtp updates tcp.smtp.cdb)
vmysql.c and voracle.pc (and vsybase.c?) have the same problem, I think.
vopen_smtp_relay() shouldn't return 0 to update

After further investigation I've managed to narrow the problem down to

We have 3 servers:
1) POP / IMAP / MX (incoming SMTP)
2) outgoing SMTP
3) mySQL dedicated
VPOPMAIL + MySQL, SMTP authenticated by POP before SMTP.
Some clients are getting '553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of

Hi Jeremy,
But if I run BOTH POP and SMTP outgoing in the same server, this error
does not occur. :)

Qmail itself doesn't use mysql. There is one or two people around
that have hacked away at Qmail to make it store data or/and configs
in a sql database, but you would need to see those projects to find
the db schema. Vpopmail can be configured to use mysql, but it is
essentially independent of
Is there any special way of configure'ing vpopmail when tcpserver has
the patch applied n installed (ie --enable-tcpserver-file etc flags)

HI Shan,
Thank for you reply.
Where can I find Vpopmail database schema. If you have, would you like to
send it to me?

Your other option is to run the mysql patch for tcpserver. This lets
tcpserver lookup the relay table instead of using the cdb. Far more
efficient in my finding so far.

In order for me to do this will I need to install RCS or do I just
download the file, do a diff or do I just replace the old configure.in
with the new configure.in
Sorry not sure on how to do this. Your assistance will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks

Dear all,
Did the steps to include nsl and socket libs for make of vpopmal
v5.4.0 on Solaris 9 (sparc) with gcc 3.3.2. However, I am still getting
the following error:
gcc -g -O2 -Wall -o vchkpw vchkpw.o md5.o hmac_md5.o libvpopmail.a
-L/usr/local/mysql/lib -R/var/qmail/vpopmail/lib
We do it, but we are using MySQL auth. The servers only
need to see the sql server to get the information. Im also
using the tcpserver patch so as to not have to rebuild the
cdb file.

can't find any clues as to why its failing. I'm not even sure
whether this is a vpopmail issue or a qmail-inject problem.
It's a qmail-inject/headers problem - the header seems broken.
You may want to try new-inject (http://cr.yp.to/mess822.html)
