Does this make sense to anyone? Spamassasin is supposed to use port 783. I don't think this looks correct. But every log shows zero errors! The scanner is stripping of the subject line and stripping off the sender field. Mail is making it to it's destination though. Much better than yesterday's problem. Does anyone know what could be effecting this? Brad Sumrall
Re: [vchkpw] Qmail Scanner error UnknownSender error
I am doing the QMail Rocks installation. I do not recall it ever installing formail. I am doing this install from the book. Any ideas? Brad Sumrall
Re: [vchkpw] Qmail Scanner error UnknownSender error
On Wednesday, June 8 at 04:03 PM, quoth [EMAIL PROTECTED]: I just redid my QMail Rocks installation again on Fedora Core 3. I did a lot more checking this time with SUIDPerl and made sure it was solid prior to install. Installation went error free. QMail is receiving email and sending them to our outlook clients. But. Sending mail will reach it's destination, but the scanner is stripping the header. Email arrive to their destination as UnknownSender and (no subject) there was info in both those fields when I sent them! Anyone have an idea what is causing this? Are you using the "formail" utility anywhere in your scripts before the mail gets sent? I once had a similar problem, where formail would add an mbox-style From header to the top of the email, which smtp servers would take as the first line of the body of an email without headers, and then things would get all mangled. ~Kyle -- Memory is like an orgasm---it's better when you don't have to fake it. -- Seymour Cray signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Re: [vchkpw] QMail Scanner 451 qq temorary problem.
This is a common problemwith qmailscanner. Id also point you to the LWQ way of instalation. Its by far the cleanest. 1.- This problem,to me, is associated with a faulty implantation of qmailscanner 2.- This is generally cause qmail cannot run qmailscanner 3.- You mentioned up2date if youre using fc3/4 or rhel4, note they have the SELinux patch enabled and running so: a) Make shure that upon attempting to deliver you DONT get Selinux messages in the /var/log/messages file (this would be the most common and confusing mistake) b) OBVIUSLY make shure that the uid that runs qmail* can run qmailscanner (check the perms) If the problem is not this one, then you should try and reinstall again, carefully... rinse, repeat [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello everyone! I have: edit the /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/run and even set the softlimit up to 50 megs and down to 2.5 as well double checked permission on the patch script file and all major files and directories. All research directs me to soft limit and suidperl. Both are confirmed installed correctly and permission and configs are good. Only questionable area is my /etc/tcp.smtp which has been swapped around a lot, but I am presently running test with every available possible option as this email is sent out. It would mean a lot to me if someone could at least point me in the right direction. I feel I am at a dead end now. Google and Yahoo show nothing new. KLEZ was easily identified because of a null appended to the mail from: line... it's that sort of operation on envelope information handling that doesn't appear to be present in qmail-qfilter. -- Ted Deppner http://www.deppner.us/

It is called qmail-qfilter. http://untroubled.org/qmail-qfilter/ Works with either QMAILQUEUE patch or, with a minor code modification to the source code, as qmail-queue replacement.
