Hello, my rule is as simple as:

- /etc/udev/rules.d/10-lirc.rules
KERNEL==event*, ATTRS{name}==Mantis VP-1041 IR Receiver,
SYMLINK=input/irremote

If you like me have a single device maybe give it another try, ignoring
most of that wiki? It's an easy and reliable method.

[vdr] Searching for a VDR announce feed

2011-05-23 Thread Adrian C.
Hi,
I just found this in my ancient commands.conf

lynx -dump http://www.netholic.com/extras/vdr_announce.php | sed
'/[0-9]\/[0-9]/!d;s/\(\([^]]*\)\[\)\{1\}.*/\2/;s/  //g' | head -n 15

Anyone knows an equivalent of this (now gone) page? Maybe there's a more
modern RSS feed today? Thanks.

[vdr] Replacing aging VDR for DVB-S2, again

2011-04-30 Thread Adrian C.
Hello,
in Jaunary I asked your suggestions for hardware capable of doing DVB-S2
and HDTV to replace an old setup. Based on your helpful responses I
decided to use:

Ascrock M3AUCC
AthlonII X3 455
Nvidia GT240
2x SkyStar HD2 (2.6.38.4 mantis works good, but no RC)

I worked on my VDR 1.6 setup for many years with liemikuutio patches,
text2skin themes, externalplayer plugin launching Oxine... so I
decided to replicate that setup first, and it all works great again.

Reason I haven't tried VDR 1.7 yet, and that I'm here again, is the
GT240 graphics. I could only obtain a 512MB model, which I did even
though the supplier said it will be no good for HD on a 107cm LCD TV.
Was he trying to sell me more expensive graphics, or that actually makse
sense? Thanks.

[vdr] Replacing aging VDR for DVB-S2

2011-01-02 Thread Adrian C.
Hello,
I'd like to replace my VDR with Duron 1200, Skystar2 and GeForce4.

I'm not particulary interested in HDTV but I'd like to prepare the new
VDR for the future, even though I'm on a budget.

I'd buy Skystar2-HD with a GeForce that supports VDPAU. Would you be so
kind to tell me if the SS2-HD works OK?
Also with VDPAU, but more importantly in the absence of it would any of
these CPU be up to the task of processing: Athlon2 X3 450 3.2GHz and
Pentium E6500 or E6700 3.0GHz.

Thank you very much.

[vdr] Euro History channels - channels.conf

2010-09-15 Thread Adrian C.
Hi,
I wonder if someone would share their 13E/19.2E channels.conf entries
with me. All I ever watch is History and I lost pretty much all of them
in the past month or so.

First I could no longer get EPG and picture on SkyItalia History and
History+1. New channels appended to the end of channels.conf registered
no replacements.

What I usually do in that situation is visit linowsat.de and compare
their VDR settings with mine. Unfortunately after years of excellent
service linowsat.de no longer serves those.

Here are the channels I lost, that is I can no longer get EPG or picture
on them:

[vdr] VDR plugin options

2010-01-24 Thread Adrian C.
Hello,
in this example of starting VDR in a script some options are passed to
the softdevice plugin:

$vdrbin -L $vdrlib -Pfemon -Psoftdevice -vo xv:full -ao alsa:mixer:pcm=default

Now I want a variable or array at the top of the script so I could
easily add, remove and comment plugins... rewriting the above example:

vdrplug=(-Pfemon
 -Psoftdevice -vo xv:full -ao alsa:mixer:pcm=default
)
$vdrbin -L $vdrlib ${vdrpl...@]}

I have tried numerous ways of quoting and escaping the softdevice line
but I always get one of:

1. VDR tries to start a plugin called: softdevice
2. VDR interprets -v in -vo as VDR video directory option and fails
   because there is no directory o

Can anyone help me with writing this? I use vdr 1.6.0, thanks,

[vdr] Croatian translation for VDR and hello plugin

2008-03-17 Thread Adrian C.

Hello,
I took hr_HR.po from latest VDR rc announcement - vdr-1.5.18, and
finished the translation, as well as fixed/changed many strings to try
and make the translation more consistent with all the other FOSS
translated to Croatian (among others this is also useful
http://open-tran.eu/). I've been a user of VDR for a long time now and
felt that at least I can do this to thank all the developers for their
hard work.

I'm also a translator of several other applications like gajim and comix
so I have some little experience. I was unable to find POTFILES.in in
this snapshot, so I trusted that the provided po files are in sync with
all the strings of the program and I worked directly on the po file
provided (please advise me of any mistakes).

% msgfmt -v hr_HR.po
322 translated messages.

% msgfmt -v hello/hr_HR.po
6 translated messages.

Tarball is here:
