Folks: I’m getting a fly tying materials order and have always wanted to try a pair of Rotary Hackle Pliers. Do they work good?? Are they better than regular hackle pliers. Only problem I foresee is that after you wrap the hackle, those rotary pliers will hang down a lot farther than normal

Thanks Tony and Neville. So they do NOT get in the way of tying off the hackle then??? How long are the handles on them?? Stockard offered a “standard” shaft length and an extended size. I chose the standard, but should I order the long handled ones instead?? I have NOT placed my order yet.

I have a couple of the longer handled rotary hackle pliers but seldom use them. The first pair was an expensive Tiemco with a rubber/plastic grip pad on one of the jaws. This came off and was lost early on. The other pair is from Griffin (much cheaper than Tiemco) and same style with a rubber
