I had some 8X once but you have to play the fish so long and carefully that I got rid of it. I still have some 7X for tiny midges. They do alright with the 3 WT rod as the tip protects the tippet. Still I prefer a heavier tippet so I can land the fish faster unless the fish are tippet shy.
