: Braille Displays For iPhone
What is the name of the 20 cell display? Can you comment on its portability?
I have been watching this thread with interest, trying to get a feel for
what is out there. I don't wan to get a display that is to big to be
portable, but not to small as to cause extra work
is 16 cells and works
with iOS 6.

I'm also intrigued by the Perkins mini. Having seen the description, I'm
thinking I might really like the layout with the space bar further from the
keys, kind of like what you have on qwerty keyboard with the space bar below
the typing keys. And the price is interesting as well.

Hi
, I totally agree that braille display has to be ergonomic for the user.

Hi.
I have tried some of these small displays, in my opinion they are not much
worth. Yes you can use them for writing, but if you are reading only a little
mails or longer messages and using safari, the smaller displays will not do it.
On the other hand I am also wondering if 40 cells
When choose something longer than a 12 or 14 cells display.
There are some smaller problems with humanwares 32 cells display, but it
provide great braille to a fair price, it can be placed in its bag without
falling out, so you can easili use it in a train or a bus..
Best regards Annie.

I disagree: I have a focus40, which I use at work. I set it to use 14 cells,

For books and the web and everything else, I prefer to read with less cells. It
requires less hand movement and is more ergonomic, in my opinion.

panning bothers you. I have an 18 cell display and I think 24 would be maybe a
little better and certainly 32 or 40 would be the best. However, the other
factor is portability and ease of typing. THe Refreshabraille I
