Barry and all: I have just installed Dijit and purchased the Griffin Technology Beacon, $40.95 at Best Buy. All appears to be accessible, with Dijit behaving as described. Unhappily my Dish 722 box is having issues accepting IR commands but I was able to change channels on my TV via the app

I've been wanting such a thing for the two years I've had an iPhone, and so far the only thing that comes close, and it's not even really a true remote control in the sense of transmitting an infrared data burst, if that's what you're looking for, is the Verizon app suite for the FiOS set-top box.

Hi, I have the RE Remote 30-PIN IR dongle, but never use it. At one point about 2 years ago I was beta testing for the developer and he made a few improvements, but I just find it's much too much trouble to plug this in, open the app and then use the iPhone to maybe change volume or channels
