This is indeed strange; I have two iDevices, each with iOS 11.3 installed - an
iPhone 6 and an iPad II.
The iPhone has the Emoji pronunciation issue concerning this thread, the iPad

This is truly fascinating. I just installed Samantha Enhanced and it does the
strange new pronunciation which is about 5 or 6
