I purchased 100 credits a week ago. this morning I accidently deleted the app while trying to move it to another page. I went to the app store, open purchased and redownloaded the app. It is not showing that I have made the credit what should I do?purchase. Re: taptapsy
Hi don't worry, just purchase the credit again, it will not be charged to your credit card since you purchased them before, that's the beauty with the app store, once purchased they're free after that including all updates, Taptapsee being no exception. I haven’t used TapTap See, but most apps have a “restore purchases” button in the settings or other area of the main screen. If this app has this function, you can restore your purchases this way. Itunes match?
I just got a subscritpion to itunes match. So I’ve matched about 5000 songs now. And they show up. I turned on airplane mode, and I could still play the music, but I thought you needed internet access to use the cloud? Am I wrong? I thought wifi and other features dont work in airplane mode, thats why I tried it out? Just out of curiousity? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. RE: downloading books with the bard mobile app?
Hi. Look for a button to add the selection to your Wish List. Do this for all the books you want to put on your phone. Then go to your Wish List and download the books from there. I think double tapping on the book from there will start the download process. I usually use iTunes to add the zipped files from my computer's hard drive to the bookshelf in the app, so I'm hoping I didn't miss any steps in answering your question. Actually if you found the book you want on the app itself, first tap on the more info button and under that you will see the download button. Re: New Version Of ITunes
I've just installed the itunes update 11.1.4 on my Windows 7 PC. The installation got almost to the end but then stopped and declared Apple Mobile Services could not start. I had to abort update but then itunes refused to start. Googled it and lots of people suffering! I went into control panel, uninstalled itunes and other apple programs then downloaded the new version of itunes and installed it without a hitch. Whew! DUH Apologies Re: Could iCloud cause this issue?
Thank you, Chris. Indeed, it was the mute switch on my iPhone. When I want my phone quiet, I turn it off. It must have gotten switched off, and I didn’t even think to check that. Memo to self: check before jumping to conclusions. Crystal From: Christopher Chaltain Sent: Friday, January 24, 2014 10:10 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Could iCloud cause this issue? Is it possible you pushed the mute switch into the on position on your iPad Mini? What you describe is exactly how my iPhone behaves when I push the mute switch towards the back of the phone. Not sure how the mute switch works on the iPad Mini, if it even has a mute switch. I doubt very much the iCloud would have anything to do with this. I do have vibrations when a call comes in, but that’s all. The only thing I can think of that was different is that last night I had iCloud sync my contacts list from my iPhone to my iPad Mini. I should say that is the first time I have ever used iCloud. I’ve tried looking through the settings on my iPhone, but it seems like everything is the way it should be. My iPad Mini is a wi fi only model, if that means anything. I have turned the iPhone off completely, and back on, but that makes no difference. Personally I prefer to use a cloud based email service and my preference is Outlook.com from Microsoft. It uses Exchange Active Sync and if you use it you just set up your email account on the iPhone as a Microsoft Outlook account, all you need to provide are your @outlook.com or @hotmail.com etc. email address and password, then turn on Mail, Contacts and, if you want, Calendars and it will all sync. On your PC you would use Outlook 2010 and install the free Outlook Connector or, if you use Office 2013 the functionality is built in and once again you just provide your Outlook.com email and password when you set up your email account in Outlook. All your email and Contacts are kep in the cloud, if you ever get a new PC or new iPhone or maybe you buy an iPad down the road, all you do is set up your account and all your emails and contacts will sync to your new device, you never lose anything if your device breaks or is stolen. RE: New Version Of ITunes
Hi John, Yes, I saw the update after you mentioned it. Only thing I can suggest is to first of all to restart the computer (which you probably tried) and also to turn off your phone and then power it on again after about 30 seconds. If that doesn't help you might want to try a different USB port and if that doesn't help try a different USB charge/sync cable if you have a second one. Failing all that you might have to do what Harry did when his update didn't complete which is to uninstall iTunes and the other Apple stuff like Bonjour and so on and to then reinstall it. Hopefully you figure out how to get it to work without that, but apart from the things above regarding different USB ports and cables I can't think of anything else right now. My update went fine and iTunes 11.1.4.62 seems to work as before. I know a few people mentioned they were having problems syncing music. Since I hadn't really synced a lot of my music to my 5S I decided to do this after updating iTunes. I did what I always do, go to my device, check Music, then check to Sync Music and then to Sync selected playlists, genres, artists and albums. I tabbed to the list view of all my artists, went down the list and checked the ones I wanted, then tabbed to Apply and about 3,200 songs from 150 artists synced without a hitch. I think the sync went a lot faster than it used to (I had my iPhone connected with the Lightning cable). I only just now did a Google search to see what this update is supposed to do. I found the following link and based on this it appears to be mainly a cosmetic improvement maybe with some bug fixes and performance improvements: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4722-apple-itunes-for-windows-64bit.html If you go to this site and do a virtual search (Jaws Key+Control+F for Jaws users) for What's New you find where they start mentioning the new features, mainly they are: The new iTunes includes a dramatically simplified player, a completely redesigned Store, and iCloud features you'll love-this is the best iTunes yet. This version of iTunes comes with several new features and improvements, including: . iTunes Radio. iTunes Radio is a great new way to discover music. Choose from over 250 stations or start a new one from your favorite artist or song. Enjoy iTunes Radio ad-free once you subscribe to iTunes Match. . Genius Shuffle. Introducing a magical new way to experience your music library. Choose Genius Shuffle and iTunes instantly plays songs that go great together. Click it again to hear something new-enjoying your music has never been this easy. . Podcast Stations. You can now create custom stations of your favorite podcasts that update automatically with new episodes. Your stations, subscriptions, and current play position sync over iCloud to the Podcasts app. . Sync with iOS 7. You can now use iTunes to sync your favorite music, movies, and more to devices with iOS 7. In addition, iTunes now makes it even easier to quickly organize and sync apps to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Quick Tip: Apple has removed the sidebar showing devices and content categories on iTunes 11 by default. To show the sidebar again, on the top menu click on View and then select Show Sidebar. There's a keyboard shortcut to accomplish the same: Ctrl + S in Windows, or Option + Shift + S in OS X.. On 1/24/14, Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca wrote: Hi John, Did you just now upgrade from iTunes 10 to iTunes 11? I think the trust message is caused by iOS 7, it's been there since last fall. As far as iTunes not opening automatically, I actually prefer that because more often than not I might want to plug in my phone to charge it or to grab some pictures off it, but I don't really need iTunes. Anyhow, once your phone is connected, go to your iPhone, then with the Summary tab checked (this is the case by default) just tab a lot (about 40 times if I counted right) and you will find a checkbox control called Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected. Make sure this is checked and then tab a bunch more and activate the Apply button. This should then cause iTunes to open automatically next time your phone is connected. One tab after the Sync automatically is the checkbox for Sync with this iPhone over WiFi. Re: Itunes match?
You definitely don't need wifi to use the cloud. If you go into Settings - iTunes and App Store you can turn off cellular data, so it'll only use wifi, but this is a setting you control. To use Air Play between two devices, those two devices do need to be on the same wifi network. On 01/25/2014 03:11 AM, Carol anne et al wrote: I just got a subscritpion to itunes match. Re: What options for syncing contacts to PC
Yes, you can use iCloud with cellular data. For example, you can go into Settings - iCloud - Documents and Data and turn use cellular data off, so this is up to you. There are some iCloud features which may only be available over wifi, but I'm not sure what these are, and you should be able to check with a Google search. Re: Why isn't a movie downloaded onto my iPhone also on my authorized MacBook?
Christine, When you sync your phone, in iTunes there is an option in one of the menus to transfer purchases from the phone to the computer. You want to press enter on that and anything you bought with the phone -- music, movies etc. -- will be transferred to your computer. There is also an option to select so when you make a purchase with your device, it will automatically be added to your library the next time you open iTunes on your computer. I forget where that option is. Maybe someone else can help with that. I hope this helps. Kimber On 1/24/14, Christine Grassman cgrassman1...@gmail.com wrote: Hello all. Re: Text of Notes Showing Up in Inbox
Hi, I first noticed this when I was running an iPhone 4 and IOS 4 and thought it was strange that notes would end up in my GMail inbox. Since I considered this issue a somewhat amusing but minor annoyance I never checked to see if I could turn that off. Just now I went into Settings and Notes and the only thing I could find in there was a reference to my default mail account, which is, of course, GMail. I saw no way to turn automatic e-mailing of notes off. So any time I see one of my notes in my inbox I automatically delete it. Re: importing music from a cd
In preferences under general you can adjust the import settings. You might consider having iTunes ask you if it you want to import a CD when it's inserted but there's a number of choices in there you can choose from. Re: downloading to iPhone or iPod Touch
Not with Hulu or Netflix, these are services that depend on you streaming so they can keep their prices low. If you buy a movie from Amazon, iTunes, or other places you can download it, but not from streaming services. Incidentally, if you do buy movies, I recommend iTunes since that will make your life much easier when trying to get a copy of your movie. I've never dealt with Amazon, but if they treat their movies anything like they do their books, I wouldn't use them. Tiny Bluetooth Speaker
I am not sure if this speaker was recommended here, but I found it on Amazon. If you picture a tennis ball with the top one third flattened, then sitting on a pedestal, that is about the size of this speaker. The pedestal is actually a suction cup. Actually, the speaker is sitting inside a rubber housing that forms the covering and suction cup. My two year old little girl turned it into the speaker we were looking for. She pressed the suction cup to my four head and it stuck. So, if you want to look like a dork, you could walk around with this thing applied to your four head and be able to hear your navigation apps, etc. It was about $15 on Amazon. Re: Awesome iPhone Keyboard
How much is the Logitech keyboard and what is Apple TV and do you need a TV or cable service to get service with apple TV through it? Thank you, Julie julie.magno...@att.net Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly And leave the rest to God! - Original Message - From: Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Friday, January 24, 2014 7:04 PM Subject: RE: Awesome iPhone Keyboard How do you define small? You can get mini Bluetooth keyboards which are pretty much exactly the same size as an iPhone, but those are not really designed to be used as a regular keyboard where you do correct 10-finger typing. If you want this then the Apple Wireless keyboard is very good, the Logitech Easyswitch K811 is excellent and a lot of people like the Amazon Basics Keyboard as a more budget option. I like how the Apple Wireless keyboard feels, but I don't like the fact that the on/off switch is a button on the right side at the back, even if you turn it off chances are it will turn on if you have it in a pack. I just ordered the Logitech EasySwitch K811 which is also very well-made. It has a physical slider switch on the right side which is great, it also has a built-in rechargeable battery whereas the Apple Wireless keyboard uses 2 Double A batteries and the main reason why I bought the Logitech K811 is because you can pair it with up to 3 devices at the same time and all you have to do to switch from 1 to the next or the third is press F1, F2 or F3. I currently have only 2 iOS devices, my iPhone and my Apple TV, and I will pair it with both so that I can easily use the same keyboard. The name EasySwitch truly applies. I had in fact, ordered the K810 keyboard which is the same thing except it's made for PC's and mobile devices. It did work OK with the iPhone as well, but it has Windows Key and Alt instead of Command and Option so the VO key is a different key combination. Anyhow, since I wanted it exclusively for my iPhone and Apple TV I decided to return it (I bought it from Amazon) for a refund and I ordered the K811 from the Apple Store using the Apple Store app. It will arrive on Monday. The price for the K810 on Amazon here in Canada was $79, the K811 from the Apple Store was $99, but on Amazon Canada they wanted $131. On Amazon.com the K811 is only $72 or $77 or something around there. Lastly, Logitech also makes a model K760 or close to that, it can only switch between 2 devices, but it's solar powered which, had that been available for a model which can handle 3 devices, I would have preferred. But in the end keyboards last a long time anyways and the K810 and K811 are rechargeable so it's not a big deal to plug it in over night every few months. Oh, the K810 and K811 are pretty much the same size as an Apple Wireless keyboard, about 12 inches long and maybe 5 or so inches wide. They do not fold, but while you couldn't stick them in a coat pocket, they are very easy to carry along if you have a shoulder bag, messenger bag or backpack. Yes, we understand that the photos aren't stored on the phone by default. However, they are stored indefinitely on your servers. I just wanted to make it crystal clear that the answer to Carol's question of whether the photos are all gone after processing is NO - the photos are stored indefinitely on TapTapSee's servers. Re: Interested in people's preferences...
I'm using a nice keyboard my friend bought for me from the last year's CSUN conference. It's called Rivo. It's like a remote controler. very small but typing is faily good and there are a lot of usable commands. At home I use Apple keyboard and Rivo keyboard together. I don't want to use iphone without keyboard. Especially when I correct text, without keyboard it takes much time and very hard. A few days ago I found Fleksy app and it seems cool although I don't know how to send text with it. Re: Voiceover quality degradation
To add to this point, unlike previous iOS versions where you had to plug your phone in to get the high quality voice, you don't have to do that in iOS 7. It downloads automatically. Re: What bluetooth keyboard to buy?
Apple keyboard easily turns on. So when I travel, I take out the batteries. Then I changed to Microsoft mobile keyboard. It's good although the power switch is somewhat hard to slide and it's a little bigger. The button feedback is great and it is ergonomically designed. It has thin and streamlined body with differently sized buttons. I like it although I use Apple keyboard more. Logitech easy-switch keyboard is also great. I don't have one but I tried a few hours at my friend's home. It's almost like Apple keyboard. Re: Try Again
What I have found is that it is somewhat sensitive to any moisture .. so, if your finger is wet .. sweaty .. etc. that seems to create issues .. I have also noticed that if my hands are really cold .. sometimes takes a couple of tries ... Overall I am very happy with the touch id .. I however only get consistent results with my right hand .. might be the angle or what with my left one ... -Original Message- From: Bruce Sent: Tuesday, January 21, 2014 11:33 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Try Again I am having the same problem. Quite frankly, it is driving me nuts!!! So much so, I’ve been tempted to return to having a unlocked phone. What stops me, is the finger print reader was one of the biggest reasons for going for the 5S. Please, any tips on consistent finger print reading success? I have recreated prints a few times, with positive results for a handful of days. Right now, I’m using my left thumb my right middle finger. Should I use something to clean my home button? Is the finger print soft wear in it’s infancy, therefore still needs improvement? Lol, any words of wisdom are welcome here. Questions regarding Twitter
Hi there, I wasn't quite sure if this question was appropriate, but since I can use Twitter with either a computer or an iDevice.the twitter website or twitter app or TweetList, I figured I could get some kind of answer. I was told that one could have lists or groups on Twitter where you can group your friends or people you're following. First of all, is this true, and how exactly does that work? Also, if I post a tweet, is it possibly for only a certain group or list to see that tweet? If so, how would I go about doing this? So, if anyone has any tips or advice regarding working with Twitter and groups, I'd love to hear from you. Oh, while I'm at this, I'll ask one final question. There are people following me that I don't know. How can I remove them from the list of folks following me, especially since I don't know them? Thanks for any help. This would be worth while. Re: question about the Braille pen 12.
If you mean the new version, it has touch cursor buttons. Not touch cursor as in physical buttons, but capasitive buttons, like tiny touch sensors, in place of buttons. This not only marks the first time the Pen has included cursor controls at all, it offers less moving parts that can break and allows the device to be smaller. Re: Question - Re: Digit-Eyes Version 2
It is very accessible, though it will not automatically read out the identified item, you have to find that on the screen. That is the only drawback, though - it is much easier to scan bar codes than Digit Eyes, and it has a manual control for the light if your device supports that. To be fair, Digit Eyes may have added such a control in their latest update, I'm not sure. Still, when I can run my phone all over a box for minutes and find no code with Digit Eyes, then do the same with Red Laser and have a scan in seconds, I know which one I'd rather use. They do not fold, but while you couldn't stick them in a coat pocket, they are very easy to carry along if you have a shoulder bag, messenger bag or backpack. adding books to Bard app from hard drive?
Hi all, I just discovered several books on a thumb drive that I never read, forgotten when I switched from the NLS Bard player to the iOS app. Is there an easy way for me to load all these into the app, preferably not using iTunes, or is it easier to just re-download them from within the app itself? Thanks. Have a great day, Alex (msg sent from Mac Mini) mehg...@gmail.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: package tracking app?
You have to click on the delete button near the top of the screen and you will then see a list of items. You can select the ones you want deleted by double tapping and VO will say selected. Do that for each one then find the archive button near the bottom of the screen, after the list of all the packages. Hi everyone, One of my favorite apps has been Track This, an easy to use voice over friendly package tracking app. I hadn't used it in a while, but I have some things coming via FedEx and when I went to enter the info in the app today, I got a message saying that Track This is closed and is no longer accepting info. Maybe this is old news but I didn't know till today. so, can anyone recommend another accessible package tracking app? That was one of the most useful apps I ever had. Re: Awesome iPhone Keyboard
Julie, the Apple TV is a box which connects to your tv. It can and should be used as part of a home network, but can be connected directly to a computer or modem. If all you want is to make use of Netflix than a cable account is not necessary. I expect this is also true when making use of MLB-TV and even perhapse NFL.com's NFL package. If you do, though have Cable TV this allows you to pick up other things like ESPN, PBS, etc. I suggest you go to http://www.apple.com and search for Apple TV to find out other information about this device. I was so impressed with the one I received from Santa that I bought another one for use in my bedroom. As far as the keyboard you asked about is concerned, it can be used with up to three Apple devices. It is the size of a standard computer keyboard. The keyboard can, I understand be had via Amazon.com for about $85.00 but retails for $99 when purchasing via Apple. Re: Portable Bluetooth Keyboard Suggestions
I like having a keyboard I can type on. When I got my iPad Air, I wanted a case that comes with a QWERTY keyboard. This is a Belkin iPad Air case. The iPad sits in a holder and can be adjusted to 1 of 3 settings. You can even lift the bottom of the iPad and slide it out so that the iPad lays flat on the typing keys face up. So, you can use your Air flat on your lap. The case comes with a recharging cable for the battery. I really like it and even more, I love my iPad Air. Now my iPhone can be used more for a phone. Lastly, I am connected to my Plantronics Bluetooth Legend which channels the audio output of my Air to my ear peace. Re: Question - Re: Digit-Eyes Version 2
You know my problem with Red Laser is it says something like Product of Albertsons instead of saying the product. Is there a setting, or just my roll of the dice with the couple of things I have tried? To be fair, Digit Eyes may have added such a control in their latest update, I'm not sure. Still, when I can run my phone all over a box for minutes and find no code with Digit Eyes, then do the same with Red Laser and have a scan in seconds, I know which one I'd rather use.
