You can’t ask SIRI to run a shortcut unless you record your trigger phrase yourself. If the shortcut is already appearing in Settings > SIRI and Search > My Shortcuts you can record a phrase there, just double tap on the shortcut, then double tap “Record a phrase and speak what you want, e.g.

No, you don’t have to open the camera app, but the phone has to be unlocked. If you try it with the phone locked, SIRI will say running your shortcut, it will even do the 3, 2, 1 countdown, but then it will say “You need to unlock your iPhone first”. You might want to go to Settings > SIRI >

I put in new batteries. It must have paired with them, named them Oticon, said zero percent, but I can't get Bluetooth connected with my aids either in Bluetooth or in MFI. I am afraid I'm going to have to end up going to the audiologists - most inconvenient at this particular time in my life.
