I found App Setting in More tab but it doesn’t talk about FaceID, it says that 
language, time Zone etc can be changed in your device setting.

Hi Fazil, once you are logged in to your BMO app you have 3 tabs across the 
bottom:

Home, Pay and Ttransfer and More

OK, I should say that maybe your tabs could be a bit different since I only 
have a BMO Air Miles Mastercard and no bank account so I use my Mastercard 
number to sign in, but either way you should have "More" at the bottom right.

Once you tap on that look for "App Settings" and select it. Here you can turn 
on Face Id, however it will probably ask you if you want to use Face Id as long 
as you find the checkbox or toggle switch for "Remember my card" at the login 
screen.

You have to give the app permission to remember your c ard before you can 
enable Face Id and I'm pretty sure once you do this and enter your password, 
the app will prompt you if you want to Face Id.

Hi Group.

My bank is Bank of Montreal whose banking app is very accessible and I am very 
happy with it.

I have this app on iPhone8 and I access my account with fingerprint instead of 
password.

I also have iPhone12 and I am comfortable now with FaceID as it works for me 
%90 of the time. I have just added the app of BMO to iPhone12 and logged in 
with Password.

My question is, would iPhone12 let me log in next time to my account? If yes, 
would it ask for my password? How can I tell iPhone12 that next time I would 
like to use my FI instead of my PW?

I didn’t know Canada had legalised Marihuana. I’m not a smoker so I too am glad 
there is no longer smoking permitted in public places, but do feel a bit sorry 
for those who are addicted to tobacco.

Marihuana is still illegal in the UK although I understand readily available. 
Did legalizing it make any difference to the drug scene in Canada?  I saw a 
documentary this week about gangs now using children to push drugs, some as 
young as nine.

The no smoking in bars/pubs/restaurants was the best thing that ever happened.

Not sure about the States, but here in Canada this happened sooner than in 
Germany where I am from and I remember quite a long time ago when it was 
already forbidden to smoke in restaurants/pubs here that I visited Germany and 
went for dinner with friends and afterwards I had to completely change my 
clothing because everything stank of cigarette smoke. When I grew up in Germany 
you took it for granted, but nowadays it's the most disgusting thing.

Of course now that Canada has legalized Marihuana a few years ago you have to 
deal with that stink which is even worse and while it is of course not allowed 
to smoke in public indoor places, I have a neighbour who isn't even my direct 
neighbour, but two houses over and when he lights up his pipe or whatever weed 
he is smoking I have to go into the house and close the windows because the 
entire backyard smells like a few skunks had just sprayed everything.

Ah yes, I have to say I prefer our English pubs to your American bars but sadly 
they are becoming a dying breed as they struggle to survive. The first major 
knock was drink driving laws and then more recently no smoking indoors and the 
tax on alcohol is really high here in the UK so going out for a drink is quite 
an expensive outing these days. Most out of city pubs survive by serving food. 

My two main complaints about the Brit coverage of news is one, it is always so 
negative, and secondly, they have correspondents spouting on for ages giving us 
their opinion of what has happened and what it is likely to lead to – that 
isn’t news – that is speculation!

trouble using taptic time if watch is covered by a shirt sleeve

Has anyone else noticed that since
updating to watch OS 9 taptic time is harder to activate if the
watch is covered by anything.  I have used it since figuring out
how to use it.  It has worked well for me even if it is covered
up by my shirt sleeve.  However, since updating it is now much
harder to activate if covered.  If I uncover it it still seems
to work as it did in the past but I didn't used to need to
uncover it first.


Anyone else see this?

The fix for the Ivona voices is already in the app store. I tested it and it 
works perfectly!
Clearly Winston is not only the best developer at responding to bugs; but must 
be highly valued by Apple to be able to upload fixes so fast. I clock this one

It does for me, if you picked up the call you may want to check that you didn't 
accidently select to s how only missed calls but that "All" is selected.
This is actually a pet peeve for me, I have been using an iPhone since 2010 and 
in all those 12 years Apple has not made any changes to the Phone app or at 
least not to the ability to filter recent calls in more meaningful ways. Way 
back around 2005 or whenever I got my first Microsoft 5.1 or whatever it was 
smartphone even there I could not just show "All" or "Missed", but I could also 
select to see only incoming or only outgoing calls and I could type in a number 
or part of a number so if I for example remembered somebody from the 403 area 
code called me (that is primarily Toronto) but I forgot the rest of the number 
I could type in 403 and it would only show me all the calls which started with 
the 403 area code.
Similarly once I had selected say "incoming" I could select delete and it would 
only delete the calls in the currently selected filter. On the iPhone even if 
you select "Missed" and then tap Edit and sElect All it will still delete the 
entire recent call list.
Maybe I have to write to Apple again and request this as a future update, I did 
a few times many years ago but nothing ever came of it and it would be so easy 
for them to implement something like that.

The below instructions are given using an iPhone 13 Mini running iOS 16.0.2.

 

You can add different voices to your rotor but be aware that they are found 
under Language in the rotor so you must go to Settings> Accessibility> 
Voiceover> Rotor> and make sure you swipe to Language and select it.

 

Next, you must go to Settings> Accessibility> Voiceover> Speech> and under the 
Rotor languages heading will be listed the languages you have added to your 
device. At the end of this section is an Add new language button which you can 
execute to add other languages. After you have the languages you want, you 
should be able to double tap on the one to which you want to add a voice where 
you should be given the available voices to download. You will need to double 
tap on any voice of interest where there will be listed regular, enhanced, or 
premium variations as available. On this list screen, You can single finger 
swipe down on any of these and the first option presented is Speak sample which 
you can double tap to hear a sample of the voice. If you like it, you should be 
able to double tap on the voice to download it.

 

After all your languages and voices have been added and downloaded, you should 
be able to engage the rotor to language and single finger swipe down where each 
voice will announce itself using its actual voice followed by its origin such 
as English US, English UK, English Australian, etc.

I am having an issue with voiceDream Scanner as I said.  I launch it, I get one

redownloading the app to no avail.

I'm running it on an iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.0.2 I believe we're at 
now.


Can anyone else replicate this problem and is there a known fix for it?

You can't, you can set a signature for a particular email address so unless you 
have a dedicated email address for Viphone this wouldn't be possible.
Of course you could probably make it a habit to just manually sign "Thanks,

If you go under Speech, to Rotor language, you can add one voice from each 
language to be on the rotor.

Then, turn the rotor to language and flick up or down to change voices.

Winston thinks he has it narrowed down to the Ivona voices.
I changed to James from Neospeech and Scanner works fine.
He should have a fix in today or tomorrow for the Ivona voices.

If you are having the problem and not using the Ivona voices, write Winston and 
tell him which voice you are using. Write him at wins...@voicedream.com

Same thing happened to me although my first scan, it took the picture, but 
there was no recognition. After that, I got the same error that you are getting.
I wrote to support, and they just told me to delete the app and reinstall it, 
and I guess I will do that. However, I did that yesterday, and it had no effect.

I have their 9-cup set and also the measuring spoon set and they are very nice. 
Just looking on their website they do mention Maxiaids on their website under 
online sellers, but not Amazon at all. I also saw only one place in Canada, but 
I wonder if that is more of a wholesaler/distributor who then sells to smaller 
resellers.

Recent calls Not Showing up.

Hi Everyone,
When ever I would get a call, rather I answered the phone or not, the caller's  
phone number would show up in my recent folder, but that isn't happening 
anymore.  I do hear my caller id announcing the number when the phone is 
ringing, but it's just not showing up in my recent folder, as it usually did.  
XR phone iOS 15.7 T-Mobile.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Richard's suggestion definitely makes sense although people who use their main 
email for these lists may not want to make this part of the signature since it 
would then also be part of any other email they send.
But I have often reminded people when they post about services like Apple Pay 
or Apple Cash or even TV services like Hulu to mention their location because 
the many countries don't have them, same applies when people talk about cell 
providers. Somebody may for example ask what accessible apps there are to 
transfer a smaller amount of money to a friend or family member and if they, 
for example, were in Canada like me then a dozen people suggesting they should 
use Apple Cash or Venmo, but doesn't mean anything for us here in Canada since 
while I can pay just about at any store using Apple Pay, Apple Cash has not yet 
arrived here and instead of Venmo we have Interac Email Money transfers. With 
that you can easily send money (minimum of $10 and maximum can be $2,500 or 
$3,000 or higher depending on your financial institution) to any person or 
business as long as they have an email address. I can even set up auto deposit 
which means I associate a particular email address with my bank account where I 
want such deposits to go to and then as soon as somebody sends me an Interac 
email money transfer the money is automatically deposited to that account and I 
simply receive an email telling me that so and so send me whatever amount and 
that it was deposited. If you don't set up auto deposit you get the same email, 
but you then have to click on the link to deposit the money, you are redirected 
to the Interac website where you select which financial instution you use, you 
sign in to your online banking, select the account where you want the money to 
do and then tap on "Deposit Now". Of course this comes with a security question 
or otherwise anybody who could get a hold of that email could deposit the money 
so during the process you have to enter the answer to a security question the 
sender has selected. Auto deposit is much safer because just as with passwords 
people are not too smart and often choose very obvious security questions and 
then if the email is intersected or highjacked and the person who does this can 
guess the answer they can still deposit the money to their account.
Anyways, there have certainly been many examples where I wish people had 
mentioned where they are from since somebody including yours truly may have 
answered a question only to get a reply that whatever was suggested doesn't 
work because it is not available where the person lives.

The no smoking in bars/pubs/restaurants was the best thing that ever happened.
Not sure about the States, but here in Canada this happened sooner than in 
Germany where I am from and I remember quite a long time ago when it was 
already forbidden to smoke in restaurants/pubs here that I visited Germany and 
went for dinner with friends and afterwards I had to completely change my 
clothing because everything stank of cigarette smoke. When I grew up in Germany 
you took it for granted, but nowadays it's the most disgusting thing.
Of course now that Canada has legalized Marihuana a few years ago you have to 
deal with that stink which is even worse and while it is of course not allowed 
to smoke in public indoor places, I have a neighbour who isn't even my direct 
neighbour, but two houses over and when he lights up his pipe or whatever weed 
he is smoking I have to go into the house and close the windows because the 
entire backyard smells like a few skunks had just sprayed everything.

Hi Fazil, once you are logged in to your BMO app you have 3 tabs across the 
bottom:
Home, Pay and Ttransfer and More
OK, I should say that maybe your tabs could be a bit different since I only 
have a BMO Air Miles Mastercard and no bank account so I use my Mastercard 
number to sign in, but either way you should have "More" at the bottom right.
Once you tap on that look for "App Settings" and select it. Here you can turn 
on Face Id, however it will probably ask you if you want to use Face Id as long 
as you find the checkbox or toggle switch for "Remember my card" at the login 
screen.
You have to give the app permission to remember your c ard before you can 
enable Face Id and I'm pretty sure once you do this and enter your password, 
the app will prompt you if you want to Face Id.

My bank is Bank of Montreal whose banking app is very accessible and I am very 
happy with it.
I have this app on iPhone8 and I access my account with fingerprint instead of 
password.
I also have iPhone12 and I am comfortable now with FaceID as it works for me 
%90 of the time. I have just added the app of BMO to iPhone12 and logged in 
with Password.
My question is, would iPhone12 let me log in next time to my account? If yes, 
would it ask for my password? How can I tell iPhone12 that next time I would 
like to use my FI instead of my PW?

Do a triple tap on the App store icon.  From the menu that comes up, double tap 
on purchased.
Now, select my purchases assuming the card is in your name.
IN the search field enter the name of the app.
Flick to the right to find it and it will give you at least the date you got 
it, and I think it may show the price, but having the date, you could call your 
credit card people and have them look it up if needed.

And, if you can show it is for blind, in some States and I'm pretty sure at the 
federal level it may be deductible.

downloaded.  They were all free, and went back only as far as spring of 2022.
I know I paid the full cost of some of our specialized apps for reading 
documents, currency, etc.
Is there a way to check the history of each app I have downloaded in order to 
determine when I downloaded it and how mujch I paid for it?
They are probably not tax deductible, but I would still like to keep a record 
of this information.
I was going to check the app store, but need to get this info as quickly as 
possible and thought some of the experts on this list might know.  I am using 
an iPhone 7 updated to the latest OS.

An excellent question, as I was curious about this as well. This should get you 
headed in the right direction.
Open wallet.
Swipe over until you hear Apple Cash and your balance. One finger double tap to 
activate.
Swipe right until landing on the More Button and activate that.
Swipe right again and you will hear options to add Money and Transfer to a bank 
account.
That should get you going. I will be doing this in the near future. Good luck.

Tracking spending on apps

I could really use suggestions on this issue asap?, as I am completing my 
2021 tax return at the last minute.

I have two charges on my credit card from Apple for 2021.  I called the 
number listed for the charges and was directed to the web site:
reportaproblem.apple.com

After logging in with my Apple ID and password, I found a list of apps I 
had downloaded.  They were all free, and went back only as far as spring 
of 2022.
I know I paid the full cost of some of our specialized apps for reading 
documents, currency, etc.
Is there a way to check the history of each app I have downloaded in order 
to determine when I downloaded it and how mujch I paid for it?
They are probably not tax deductible, but I would still like to keep a 
record of this information.
I was going to check the app store, but need to get this info as quickly 
as possible and thought some of the experts on this list might know.  I am 
using an iPhone 7 updated to the latest OS.

Moving Apple cash to my bank account

Hello everyone,


I was wondering, is it possible to move any Apple cash you have, to your 
bank account?


If so, how might I go about doing this?


My friend says it can be done. And if they go and view their cash, after 
their  list of transactions, they have an option to transfer.


However, I don't have this as an option. I don't understand why.


Do I somehow have to add in my bank account?


Any help would be much appreciated. This is rather frustrating.

Same issue here, but I'm also seeing it with seeing AI and envision. So 
it might be an IOS issue.
