Sluggish answering calls with Iphone and apple watch

Hi all, Since I have both an iPhone SE and an apple watch I have intermittent problems answering calls. Both ring and I answer on the phone but the person on the other end only starts to hear me after a few seconds, it's like the watch is interfering with the phone. It does not always happen
