If it is an iBook that is not in the public domain, it is likely DRM protected, and might be anyway. The rule of thumb, is if it is in iBooks, Kindle, Nook, or any other prepriratory format, it cannot be read by Voice Dream Reader. Kindle books can be converted if you have version 1.17 of the

It is not as easy to read with VoiceOver in Voice Dream Reader. It is designed so it is your player. You can use VoiceOver voices, but then you are stuck with reading by sentence. There is a setting to stop at the end of each sentence. I will check where that is exactly and write again.

Is there also a way to get rid of these crazy linebreaks? I poked around in settings for VDR, but don't see anything obvious. Basically, when reading a BKS book, there are points in the text where the braille display shows nothing. I have to pan forward several times before anything will appear.

You can load lots of non-drm book formats. Any non-drm ePub, DAISY, mp3. File types are pdf, word, rtf, plain text, html and maybe more. You cannot remove drm from iTunes iBooks that I know of. You can convert Kindlbooks to ePub. If you want to know more about the Kindle conversion, let me know.
