I can only repeat that everybody really should email Apple Accessibility and
complain about this as not acceptable. Such a bug wouldn't survive 2 days if it
effected sighted users.
Could you imagine if after almost every phone call the screen would go black
and people had to try and reboot their phone without visual feedback in order
to get back anything visual?

I also posted yesterday that every time I have an audio stream playing, in my
case usually an Audible book, this doesn't seem to happen. I would really like
others to try this:
1. Start an audio book, a Podcast or music playing 2. Make some calls, don't
stop the music or book, just ask SIRI to make the call o r go into the phone
app and call from your Recents, Favourites or Contacts.
3. Hang up the call when you are done and see if whatever you had playing when
you started the call resumes playing. Then stop playback and check if Voiceover
works.

That's nice it worked for you. However, I have an iPhone XR and have my wired
earbuds connected, and have lost speech on phone calls. It doesn't happen all
of the time, but it does happen. I have even notice it happening when hanging
up from an Aira call. It happened yesterday to me when I was in an iPhone class
of all things, but I got speech back fairly quickly and was able to go on with
the class. This has happened in 13.1 and 13.1.1. I updated to 13.1.2 last night
so am hoping for different results but wouldn't be surprised to see it happen
again.

to me when I was in an iPhone class of all things, but I got speech
back fairly quickly and was able to go on with the class. This has
happened in 13.1 and 13.1.1. I updated to 13.1.2 last night so am
hoping for different results but wouldn't be surprised to see it
happen again.

Re: Has any one experienced the bug where you hang up a face time call and you loose all speech

2019-10-01 Thread dani pagador
Hey, Guys.
Just wanted to update the list. It seems the VO loss after a FaceTime
or phone call only happens when an earpiece isn't connected, either
wired or via Bluetooth. I tried calling my husband twice, once with
the wired earpods and once with the Bluetooth headset I use when I'm
on the road, and both times managed to keep VO after hitting "End
Call". Guess I'll have to get in to the habit of having headphones on
me for the foreseeable future.

More Later,
Dani

I'm using a 6S. Happens with both phone and FaceTime calls, and I'm
not connected to any earpiece. Apple Accessibility e-mailed me back
and sent the usual song-and-dance line about we're looking in to it

If you have voice control on at that point you would just say reboot and

Hey y’all, hope everyone is doing well, yes my phone does the same thing to
whether I get a phone call or make a phone call voiceover dies I had to find
somebody to shut off the phone after I turn off voiceover and turn it back on
and I’d order for it to work. Worst bug ever.

Re: Has any one experienced the bug where you hang up a face time call and you loose all speech

2019-10-01 Thread James English
Hi,

I have found a workaround for this issue. When this happens to me, I
find it works if you go into app switcher and scroll an inordinate
amounts of times right (just to make sure you are on the last app) and
close it. Voiceover tends to return if I do that.

Hope this helps,
- James

So a few minutes ago I was on the phone with someone using my ear pods. When I
hung up the call, voice over was there, but it was very soft in my left ear. I
turned voice over on and back off and it came back just fine. So this phone
call bug sounds like a channeling issue when the phone goes from phone call
back to the duel speakers.

The quickest and easiest way is to do a hard reset although I did two calls
where I had an Audible book playing and I just asked SIRI to call somebody and
that time after I hung up my book resumed playing and Voiceover was fine. I
have to do this a few more times to see if this is actually a work-around for
this, i.e. that this doesn’t happen if a book or music is playing before you
start the call, maybe others can try it as well.

I've tried the power button and the volume up/down and power buttin as

Hi, i am using an XR with 13.1.2. I was very surprised when problems with MFI
began showing up. Wonder if it is just the older phones? I have had no problem
here. Everyding seems to be working.

Carolyn Hawes, I spoke with a friend of yours last night, Donna Corson. She
said you were extremely knowledgable on all things hearing and hearing aids.
She told me I want to use a program outside that is closest to analog aids so I
can hear all around me. Any thoughts on this? On the Oticons I have an all
around program. Is this the same thing? Is that the program to tweak for
outside? Thanks for thoughts.

Just for my information, does this bug occur with regular phone calls,
Facetime calls or both regular and Facetime calls?

So a few minutes ago I was on the phone with someone using my ear pods.
When

I hung up the call, voice over was there, but it was very soft in my left

this

The quickest and easiest way is to do a hard reset although I did two
calls
where I had an Audible book playing and I just asked SIRI to call
somebody

and that time after I hung up my book resumed playing and Voiceover was
fine. I have to do this a few more times to see if this is actually a
work-around for this, i.e. that this doesn’t happen if a book or music is
playing before you start the call, maybe others can try it as well.

Just for my information, does this bug occur with regular phone calls, Facetime

inaudible and so are all other sounds and vibrations. There is no SIRI tone,
there is no sound if I play the Audible book I am currently listening to and if

OK, I get the lose speech thing after I do anything phone-call or
Face-Time related. I just sent off a very angry e-mail telling Apple I
wouldn't promote purchase of the iPhone to any of my friends or in any
of the blindness organizations I belong to till they fix this bug.
It's unacceptable!!!

So … how do you get speech back? I know I could ask a sightling, but
if you don't have one around, then what?

I've tried the power button and the volume up/down and power buttin as
suggested in another message, and nothing works. I know my phone is
active because I can call myself on my parents' landline and the phone
vibrates. But I can't answer the call on the iPhone, so am out of luck
there.

Ideas?

RE: Has any one experienced the bug where you hang up a face time call and you loose all speech

2019-09-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
This has been going on for a long time during the Beta and for me it's worse in
iOS 13.1.1. I can usually get Voiceover back by calling my phone from another
phone and picking up the call, then turning Voiceover off and back on helps
either before or after you call your phone, but just turning Voiceover off and
back on usually does nothing for me and it's of course difficult to know if you
actually turned it off since you have no feedback whatsoever. It is not only
Voiceover which goes away, it's all system sounds as well, if I call my phone
when this is happening it neither rings nor vibrates, but my sighted wife
confirmed that call is coming in and it can be answered. Also saying "Hey SIRI"
does not play the usual sound that SIRI is listening.
Apple Accessibility needs to be bombarded by messages about this one, I would
consider it currently the worst issue with iOS 13.

Regards,
Sieghard
