They said early last year that the app would still have map updates but that at

other article saying Garmen was pulling the Navigon apps from the App

I’ve never seen a time limit on new maps for Navigon and I’ve had the app for 7
years. You can pay for more regular map updates but I don’t bother.
Often, when there’s a major update to the app, all the maps disappear and you
have to redownload them all.

I had problems getting Navigon to download the sound files for turn by turn
directions. In disgust I deleted the app and reinstalled it.
It works like a charm now. One secret I found is to download really large files
on Sunday mornings.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been playing around a bit. Firstly, I went to
that edit box, then I pressed the home button to speak to Siri. It will then
find the info, but not via navigon. Next, I tried the dictation feature, being
in the edit field, and then activating dictation

Well, they each do different things.
Blind square is wonderful and I wouldn’t be without it, but it’s not quite a
full featured GPS.
Navigon is good for navigating to a specific address, especially if I happen to
be with a sighted friend who might be driving.
Look around is good for poi’s
with Navigon.
As to your question pertaining to refreshing, if you have not received an
answer already could you please provide a little detail of your concern? I am
not experiencing any refreshing … that does not mean that it is not going on
… just cannot as of yet reproduce your challenge.

mind that Navigon does have a bit of a learning curve. If you buy it and use
it for the first time when you are in the car in Hawaii and expect to be an

I haven't used the Seeing Eye app yet so I couldn't tell you if it's easier,
but my guess is that in some ways it might be. Don't forget that you require
a constant data connection for the Seeing Eye app to access maps, Navigon
allows you to download the maps to your device.

purchase another Navigon programme if you wish to use Navigon in the US, or can
you purchase North American maps to use with your original version?
