I just opened my Apple Magsafe pad.
It appears the only way the pad can charge my iPhone would be for me to remove
the case from the phone. I have a silicone slip case I purchased from Apple.
Must I remove the case to charge the phone?
Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, I have successfully used my Apple Magsafe charging pad to charge my
beloved iPhone 8 Plus and not so beloved iPhone 11. It also charges my Airpods
Pro and Airpods third gen.
However, I will say that the 8 Plus needs to be perfectly aligned on the
Magsafe pad in order to charge

Hi Richard,
You have to differenciate between what “Apple” says and what a random “Apple
employee” says whether that is an employee at a store or from

and have opinions and misconceptions.
Here is what it says about the basic MagSafe charging pad on the Apple Store
website, I’ll provide the link below:

Actually a Magsafe wireless charger will charge an iPhone SE just fine, but it won’t stick to it since it does not have the magnets in the phone. However, you can get cases which include a magnetic disk and with something like this any

My 2014 magsafe charger is fraying at the tip. I don’t want to pay £79 from the

According to Apple's own article a MagSafe compatible case is recommended, but
it is not necessarily required as long as the case you have is thin enough and
most "regular" cases I would say probably are, it's those super heavy duty
cases which may be a problem.

That would be totally annoying to have to remove your iPhone from its
case just to charge it. I've got an otterbox case for my iPhone 8.
It cost me $40 and I somehow recently cracked it a little on the back
part of the case, but I can just plug in my lightning to USBC cable

Janet, I am wondering if possibly it could be the case that you have your phone
in. Some chargers will not charge your phone with certain cases in them. Maybe
you will have to remove the case when you want to charge the phone. I’m not
sure about that, it’s just a suggestion.
