I saw the problem with the phone calls not being announced by finding announce
calls in the phone settings. But now I’m wondering if there’s a similar setting
for Messages. There is none in settings but maybe there’s some other way to get
it to announce who’s just sent you a text

In the control center, I have brightness set to zero percent except when
sighted assistance is needed. But, I've noticed lately that I have to check
brightness regularly because it doesn't always stay at zero. I check it when I
think I'm suddenly using up too much battery
Thanks Dave. I went into my settings, and auto brightness was turned off. But
sometimes brightness moves from zero, anyway. I must make sure to check it
daily just in case.

I have a client who has a Mac, or will have once it gets repaired, and she also
has an iPhone and an iPad.
Does the Notes app sync between the iOS and Mac OS systems?
Assuming there is a Notes app on the Mac?
I am a Windows computer user, so am clueless about the Mac.

Yes, there's a Notes app on the Mac, and it syncs with the one on iOS devices
as long as the notes are created in the iCloud folder of the app and iCloud is
turned on on both the Mac and the iOS device or devices. Also, Notes needs to
be turned on in iCloud settings on all devices
I have this same question. But, my brightness setting creeps down instead of
creeping up. How strange.

Screen curtain does nothing to save battery, as the display is still on, but
blacked out for privacy. Setting brightness to 0 does save battery life.
