RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
On ear, I'm not sure, I haven't used my on ear headphones from bose for ages, But they do have a great sound or at least I feel they have a great sounds, Really it's up to the individual when it comes to speaker or headset sounds. Everyone has different thoughts on what they and how they like to hear audio. I would highly suggest going to one of your local audio supply stores and checking out what they have and what sounds good to you. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Robert Doc Wright Sent: Sunday, 5 July 2020 1:12 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions by chance are there any on ear headsets with the quality of the air pods? Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
I thought exactly the same thing. Then I found a special for 125.00 and took the chance. I absolutely love the air pods even with the short battery life and the unreliability of the switching feature. They will charge in around fifteen minutes, I can wear all day with no discomfort. the sound is fine in my opinion. I have no hearing in my right ear so do not like noise cancelling buds. So they fit my needs so well, I bought a second pair so when the battery goes on one, I can switch to the other pair. Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
I have the first gen airpods. If I had to pay for them all at once I wouldn't have considered them worth it either. They are about 2 years old now and the batteries pretty crappy now. When they die the only thing I will be able to do is trash tem. I am sure I will wonder where my money went then. The case is fine but when I am having to charge them every 2 hours, I am wishing for other had phones. I've got a set of wireless earbuds that work well for me, but when I get some money together, I will get those anker earbuds I talked about. I just don't have $150 at the moment to spend on them. RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
I'm not disagreeing with you, but just in case others don't know, they do come with a small portable case that has a battery in it, so you can easily take the case with you and recharge the Airpods on the fly. I'm seldomly listening to things for five hours straight, so having to pop them into the carry case for 20 minutes or so every three or four hours works for me. The convenience of small ear buds with no wires or bands that I can easily slip into my pocket is worth the inconvenience of having to recharge them every four hours or so. Obviously others may not feel the same way. I did say early on that the price gave me pause, but between coupons and gift cards, I went for it. Not sure if I would have done it if it had all come from my own hard earned dollars. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Gmail > -Original Message- > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf > Of Joshua Hendrickson > Sent: Friday, July 3, 2020 6:52 AM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences > are > between the versions > > I wouldn't pay $140 for a set of wireless earbuds if I only got about > 5 hours of playtime from a single charge. I wouldn't pay $140 for a set of wireless earbuds if I only got about 5 hours of playtime from a single charge. This is just my opinion. I'm not sure if this link will work for you, but here's a link to the Airpods from Best Buy. This doesn't include the wireless charging case but rather just the wired charging case. The price is $140. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-airpods-with-charging-case-latest-model-white/6084400.p?skuId=6084400 It should be pretty easy to make sure you're getting the right product. The price should be around $150, and it should just say Airpods and not Airpod Pros. If you see Airpod Pros, a price of around $250, and features like noise cancellation, transparency mode, and silicon ear tips then your looking at the Airpod Pros and not the Airpods. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Gmail > -Original Message- > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf > Of Simon A Fogarty > Sent: Friday, July 3, 2020 3:16 AM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences > are > between the versions > > This isn't easy to do as each country has their own website for apple so you > are > best to go to your countries apple site, Then check out the links on the page > and > there should be at the moment a link to airpods. > Then go to the link for AirPods, > Not the AirPod Pro's > > Then find the buy AirPods link and click on that. > The url below might help but it's for the the New Zealand site and see if it > redirects you to your countries site. > https://www.apple.com/shop/select-airpods > > good luck. > > -Original Message- > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf > Of Mária Orovcíková > Sent: Friday, 3 July 2020 7:15 PM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences > are > between the versions > > Hello guys, > thank you for your help. > Please, would anyone be so kind and provide the link for the standard series 2 > earpods so that I know I will get the model I need. > Unfortunately, there is no Apple store where I live, so I cannot try them, I > just > have to order online and hope I will get what I want. > Is it OK to buy the airpods on Amazon or should I buy from Apple store? > Speaking of Amazon, I know this question might be off-topic, but I am just > wondering if there is any accessible Amazon price tracker available , or how > do > you watch deals on Amazon? > Thank you for your help again. > Maria > > On 3. 7. 2020 0:08, Simon A Fogarty wrote: > > The simple one is that the standard series 2 pods are the same look / feel > > as > what is on the wired earpods that would have come with your iPhone or iPod. > > > > They sit in to the entrance of the ear but don't go in to the ear canal. > > > > They don't have noise cancelation and come with eiter a wireless charging > case or a case that needs to be connected to a usb/ lightening cable to > charge. > > > > The pros are a slightly shorter length and have a silicon or latex > > insert that goes in to the ear canal making them in some ways a tighter > > fitting > pod but not everyones feel, The pros have a noise cancelling feature and a > button thing on the side to give what's called transparency mode that lets you > hear outside noise without taking the pods out. > > > > Slightly larger charging case which is both wireless and or wired charging . > > Similar leght battery life for both designs, one being 5 hours playing > > and the other 4.5 hours Both forms of case give up to 24 hours of > > charging time > > > > So really it comes down to both what you like in the way of feel of them in > your ears, and what you wish to pay. > > > > The pros are to get some updates to firmware along with the Ios 14 > > Update that will give them the features of 5.1 > > 7.1 > > And dolby atmos audio which is what you get from stand alone speakers > > > > I'm not sure but I believe the series 2 standard pods will get these > > updates as > well, but may be not to the same extent. > > > > The other thing to look at / think about are the beats pods, Such as > > the power beats and the power beats pro, > > > > Larger in size, > > Cheaper in price and for the power beats pro I think just as good a > > sound quality as the series 2 pods, There are volume and play / pause > > and next / back track controls on the power beats pro pods and I > > believe on the power beats but on a wire that goes around your neck > > between the two pods, > > > > Hooks over the ears to hold them on / in your ears, > > And they have the latex insert to the ear canal like the apple > > airpods pro > > > > My suggestion would be to look on the apple website and have a look at > > what they say about the 4 design / models and then if possible go to > > an apple store to have a look at samples of them that you can perhaps > > try out with real life situations > > > > > > I hope this has been of some help and you can find something you like. > > > > I've got both the series 2 airpods and the power beats pro pods, and > > although I > prefer
RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
This isn't easy to do as each country has their own website for apple so you are best to go to your countries apple site, Then check out the links on the page and there should be at the moment a link to airpods. Then go to the link for AirPods, Not the AirPod Pro's Then find the buy AirPods link and click on that. The url below might help but it's for the the New Zealand site and see if it redirects you to your countries site. https://www.apple.com/shop/select-airpods good luck. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Mária Orovcíková Sent: Friday, 3 July 2020 7:15 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions Hello guys, thank you for your help. Hello guys, thank you for your help. Please, would anyone be so kind and provide the link for the standard series 2 earpods so that I know I will get the model I need. Unfortunately, there is no Apple store where I live, so I cannot try them, I just have to order online and hope I will get what I want. Is it OK to buy the airpods on Amazon or should I buy from Apple store? Speaking of Amazon, I know this question might be off-topic, but I am just wondering if there is any accessible Amazon price tracker available , or how do you watch deals on Amazon? Thank you for your help again. Maria On 3. 7. 2020 0:08, Simon A Fogarty wrote: The simple one is that the standard series 2 pods are the same look / feel as what is on the wired earpods that would have come with your iPhone or iPod. They sit in to the entrance of the ear but don't go in to the ear canal. They don't have noise cancelation and come with eiter a wireless charging case or a case that needs to be connected to a usb/ lightening cable to charge. The pros are a slightly shorter length and have a silicon or latex insert that goes in to the ear canal making them in some ways a tighter fitting pod but not everyones feel, The pros have a noise cancelling feature and a button thing on the side to give what's called transparency mode that lets you hear outside noise without taking the pods out. Slightly larger charging case which is both wireless and or wired charging . Similar leght battery life for both designs, one being 5 hours playing and the other 4.5 hours Both forms of case give up to 24 hours of charging time So really it comes down to both what you like in the way of feel of them in your ears, and what you wish to pay. The pros are to get some updates to firmware along with the Ios 14 Update that will give them the features of 5.1 7.1 And dolby atmos audio which is what you get from stand alone speakers I'm not sure but I believe the series 2 standard pods will get these updates as well, but may be not to the same extent. The other thing to look at / think about are the beats pods, Such as the power beats and the power beats pro, Larger in size, Cheaper in price and for the power beats pro I think just as good a sound quality as the series 2 pods, There are volume and play / pause and next / back track controls on the power beats pro pods and I believe on the power beats but on a wire that goes around your neck between the two pods, Hooks over the ears to hold them on / in your ears, And they have the latex insert to the ear canal like the apple airpods pro My suggestion would be to look on the apple website and have a look at what they say about the 4 design / models and then if possible go to an apple store to have a look at samples of them that you can perhaps try out with real life situations I hope this has been of some help and you can find something you like. I've got both the series 2 airpods and the power beats pro pods, and although I prefer the airpods because of the size and portability I do use the power beats pro constantly for when I'm out and about. Actually this is now not true, The pods do switch automatically This has been problematic but is now working Although isn't perfect it is working now. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Friday, 3 July 2020 1:45 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions Remember that the Airpods will not switch seamlessly/automatically and instantly between your iPhone and Apple Watch. They are Apple's own product and are supposed the most advanced Bluetooth earbuds out there yet pretty much any other Bluetooth headset will do this so I am not quite sure how this works and how Apple justifies this. I have a Voyager Edge single earpiece and if I pair it to both my iPhone and Apple Watch, I can be listening to an audio book on my iPhone using the earpiece and as soon as I do something on my watch the book stops and it switches to my watch, once I stop the book plays again as soon as the watch locks. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Mária Orovcíková Sent: Thursday, July 2, 2020 6:30 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions Hi Sieghard and all, Yes, I need a wireless headset that can be instantly and seamlesly switched between my Iphone and Apple watch. RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
The simple one is that the standard series 2 pods are the same look / feel as what is on the wired earpods that would have come with your iPhone or iPod. Good luck. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Priscilla Garces (prisci) Sent: Thursday, 2 July 2020 7:34 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions Hi, I have the same question about EarPods too. Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
The Air pods are shaped exactly like the wired buds which come with the iPhone just without the wires. Great sound and comfortable fit. I just won't try any further buds which go into the ear canal. And the price is as much as the Air pods. Thanks for the great description and I know what good products they have. When I checked and compared prices of Plantronics and airpods, the airpods cost about 30 euros more than Plantronics here in Slovakia, to not decided yet which model I am going to buy. Please, Are there any other models available that has this feature? Thanks in advance. RE: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
This sums it up nicely. I just wanted to add that I had gotten the original airpods before the new ones came out, and I have been perfectly happy with them. The newer ones do have some good features, but I have no complaints about the ones I have and I use them a lot, although I have not tried them for conference calls. The Airpods look like wired ear buds without the cables, so there's no noise cancellation, active or passive. The Airpod Pros have the silicon tips that fit into your ear, so they do have passive noise cancellation. They also have active noise cancellation, as well as a transparency mode, which picks up environmental sounds through the microphones and transmits it through the Airpod Pros. Based on feedback I got from this list, I went with the Airpod Pros myself, and I don't regret it. I had coupons and gift cards to burn though, so I'm not sure I would have made the same choice if I were talking about my own money. Bottom line for me is that if you can afford them go with the Pros, but if price is a consideration, you might want to go with the Airpods instead. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Gmail > -Original Message- > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf > Of Jen . > Sent: Wednesday, July 1, 2020 10:46 AM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are > between the versions > > Hi thinking of purchasing air pods but wondering the differences between the > versions and why 1 would choose one over the other. > Thanks. > Jen > > -- > The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. > > If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if > you feel > that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or moderators > directly rather than posting on the list itself. > > Your V iPhone list moderator is Mark Taylor. Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
The AirPod pro model have 2 modes, ambience, which enhance outside noises, and noise cancellation mode, which filter out ambient noises, like motors, traffic, and generator noises. Note it’s better Toruń off cancellation mode when on a call, as it will block the microphone. The Pro also have rubber tips, and are shaped a bit differently. Thus the case is horizontally longer. The AirPod Pro are about $100 more than the AirPods Egun On, Lagunak! Re: Thinking of getting airpods and wondering what the differences are between the versions
Hi, I have the same question about EarPods too. I would like to know what the difference is between the regular and pro version. My iphone doesn’t support the standard 3.5 headphones anymore, and only my iPad does at the moment. I intend to use them for zoom conferences, and when i go out, if i do anyway because of this pandemic. Thank yo, and hope all is well, Priscilla Sent from my iPad > On Jul 1, 2020, at 11:45 AM, Jen . wrote: > > Hi thinking of purchasing air pods but wondering the differences between the > versions and why 1 would choose one over the other. > Thanks. > Jen > > -- > The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. > > If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if > you feel that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or > moderators directly rather than posting on the list itself. > > Your V iPhone list moderator is Mark Taylor.
