As explained to me by TransNexus, the Certificate Authorities will most
likely require an OCN. VoIP carriers with their own numbering resources
already have their IPES category OCN. It's also possible they might only

This isn't foolproof, as calling to the endpoint will be down until it's
next successful registration, but has less overhead than constantly

Porting requires concurrence from the losing carrier to complete, which
ultimately happens as an LRN update in the NPAC. Companies with direct
access to NPAC can do this the quickest, otherwise they contract with an
AOCN to handle the NPAC or use a bigger carrier, which can add delays.

If the ATA is using a FaxBack server, that server would be most likely be
relaying the fax over SIP providers that support T.38 or very clean G711u
