Car Stereo and iPod
Hi. I want to buy new car audio equipment but want to attach my iPod as well. Does anyone have any recommendations for a unit. I'd like a radio but CD player isn't necessary. If you know of a good store or company to deal with that would be good to know about too. Thanks, Michael

I do, and Virex quite happily removes *most* Word macro viruses on the Mac, which is good because * They're pretty much all the viruses that are on the Mac. * The Word documents are usually what users care about the most. Do I trust it? As much as I trust ClamAV, even if I can't look at the Virex source. Cartridge refills
Has anyone used Inkwell Australia's refill kits for their inkjet printers? They also have a device to reset those with a chip to full so that they can also be refilled. Comments please. Merv -- Science teaches that we must see in order to believe, but we must also believe in order to see.

iMac 700MHz - Memory and availability?
I've been looking over older mac models and my sister might benefit from a 700MHz G3 Indigo or Graphite iMac. It looks like it takes normal SDRAM. Is that true because I have twin 256M sticks for it if it is. Also, does anyone know if any 700MHz iMacs are available over here for purchasing second hand. I've checked eBay and got a bunch of US sellers but would prefer a local source if possible. Mal

(The bus will actually read PC100 and PC133, but PC100 isn't as common anymore.) I don't have any of the 700Mhz models at the moment, but I've got a couple of 500Mhz models (at $350) if you were interested. Hope that info helps. Enjoy! Lombard bronze keyboard wanted
Hi Folks, Does anyone have or know of anyone with a keyboard for the G3 Lombard laptop [bronze keyboard] sitting around spare? I was away, laptop fine then laptop she no go got back to perth and hey there was Craig Ringer's email describing almost the exact same sickness so I tried all the suggestion but nope so I took it to Stu at Team Digital and got the call this afternoon. The keyboard is dead and he cannot get one. My options find one or use an external keyboard. I have a spare iMac keyboard so laptop will live again but I'd rather get a replacement if I can. Craig if you are still having the problem with yours disconnect the keyboard and try an external could be you have the same problem. Yvonne

Beige G3 probs
I was investigating some problems in a G3 (beige) and when I attached a monitor and cranked it up the monitor does not get up. The monitor is good and works on other Macs. Is there such a thing as a power fuse on board the G3? TIA Kev
6400 and OS9
Is it possible without a major workaround to load OS9 on a 6400? Each time I try the machine tells me that the software can not be loaded onto this machine. TIA Kev
Re: 6400 and OS9
Kev, Mactracker says Max OS for Power Macintosh 6400 is 9.1 so it should load if the disc is for power pc and not iMac [I think the discs are different but I'm no expert on that] Yvonne On 09/08/2005, at 5:58 PM, KEVIN Lock wrote: Is it possible without a major workaround to load OS9 on a 6400? Is there such a thing as a power fuse on board the G3? Is the Mac good and works on other monitors? Are there any other (even unrelated) probs? Is it trying to boot 9 or 10? This was happening to me recently, a bit like an iMac with a dead display and noise from the box and power light is on. It would 'sometimes' come up as 9 booted especially after PRAM resets. So it wasn't completely consistent, however it was quickly getting worse and given enough time I believe it would have not worked at all like yours. Occasionally it would come up as 10.3.9 booted, only to reveal kernel panics. It was really doing my head in till I saw bad display artefacts during an attempted 10.2 CD boot. Bad RAM. Sheesh! This is the second Mac I've met with bad RAM, the first was our first, a 6100/66. There were a few other enigmatic bugs under 9, this together with it's fruity on screen behaviour and kernel panics led me to the RAM. Now fixed, and I have to say it is going like a trooper. Thanks to MemTest, XPostFacto and PatchBurn. It was the G3s first OSX install. No upgrades, aside from some new RAM of course ;) and it is a very capable OSX box for the mum and dad audience. Good Luck Paul

Re: iDVD Burning Errors
Many thanks to Rob and Rod and Ronni! After Ronni's suggestion about chapter markers I created 3 new projects and added one movie to each project. Two burnt happily and the third did not, indicating that this movie was the culprit. I then went back to the offending movie and removed the Chapter markers, and voila it then burnt happily. Thanks!
