Hi Tim and interested members,
Yes, I read Apple News and had read the article.
I had been a loyal CBA customer since leaving school and starting work back in
1960. This was the first time I was so disappointed with the CBA and spent
‘wasted’ time (similar to Daniel) campaigning for CBA to use
Or it may be for economic reasons. For example, Apple may charge either the
Apple user or the bank a fee for each transaction, but the banks might not
charge the wallet user.

I understood that they had already been denied the Cartel by the ACCC.
But looks like the decision is still pending.
I may have to move to ANZ if they are going to cry and stamp their feet for a
while yet.

Well done Daniel for having the guts to take them to task on this. I am ANZ and
have used Apple Pay for ages now and it is great. It might be marginal to lure
me away from an existing bank if I weren’t ANZ currently but as you pointed out
very clearly, some will make the move for it.

heheh no competition,…just not often I get to a post before you,…hehe. :) (Was
filling in a break while working,…hehe).
Yes, I went with cheaper external DVD drives then the Apple one,…so that’s only
why I knew…hehe. But I don’t use them very much either.

Hey Daniel, I didn’t know we were having a competition... ;-))
I must admit it was a long time ago when I first purchased my ‘Apple External
SuperDrive’ possibly when first released.
So duly noted, that Apple DVD Player now works with newer external third party

Oh and the Apple DVD Player will actually work with other external DVD
players,…not just Apple’s one :) (I know as I’ve used it with an external LG
and Samsung third party DVD drives, and Apple DVD player works fine with
it,….just
Yes I’m also waiting for Westpac to “hurry up” with ApplePay on their side.
I’ve been with Westpac since first moving to Australia (which from memory was
around 1998).
I actually sent them an email the other day about this, as their feedback for
it as been ongoing for the last 3-4 years saying
Many thanks Daniel and Ronni

Hi Severin,
Apple's DVD Player application only works with an internal optical drive or
‘Apple's external SuperDrive’.
You can physically remove the DVD Player but it will only install again in an
update.

Hi Severin
You can turn off DVD Auto launch as follows -
Open DVD Player. Go to the DVD Player menu then Preferences.
Under the Player tab, where it says “When a disc is inserted” un-tick “start
playing disc”.
It used to be a setting you could change in System Preferences, but it’s

Hi Severin,
I’m not sure exactly what you mean.
Modify or remove a crop, rotation, or Ken Burns effect in a clip:
