Well after a bit of jigging around consisting of investigating settings and doing reset of various things the Face Time and Find My iPhone now works as I had anticipated it for all devices in my house. I used my iPhone as a WiFi point to enable each of the other devices to Sign In again

Hi all, I did a further experiment which makes me further suspicious of the configuration of my network setup. I set up my iPhone in Hotspot tethering mode and connected the iPad and one of the iPod Touch's and naturally, they worked with Find my iPhone. Both devices found good location
