Re: ApplePay / Bankwest

2019-02-04 Thread Tim Law
Walter I’m not talking about the name on the card and the name in iCloud
payments.

I’m talking about when Wallet scans the card.

In Settings> Wallet and Apple Pay, I tapped Add Card
Next Info screen, tap continue
Add card - scan.
iPhone recognizes text and moves to next screen named 'Card Details, verify
your card information'
It came up with the number that it read and my name. It was THAT name that was
incorrect, not sure where it found it (maybe iCloud payments as you reference
it)
I edited it on this screen and then progressed by clicking Next.
If I hadn’t I expect it would have been rejected as you describe.

I hope this is useful.

Re: ApplePay / Bankwest

2019-02-03 Thread FW
Hi Susan and Tim,

Thanks for your suggestions.

Yes, have just read on the Apple site how to remove a card in Wallet.
Except when I go to >settings, >Wallet & Apple Pay I should tap the card that I
want to remove - but because
the card was never ever successfully added (“Card Not Added” and so on) it does
not appear on the list and
can not be deleted. When I follow the prompts in Wallet to add a card it wants
to add the card in question
but after entering the CVV code and tapping the “Agree” button again the Card
Not Added message returns.

Tim, the names on the card and on the iCloud payment details were different
last week (middle name difference)
but I corrected it last week and now they correspond 100% (and Apple sent me
confirmation of the changes).

I wonder what would happen if I removed the card within iCloud payment setup ?

Cheers
Walter

Re: ApplePay / Bankwest

2019-02-03 Thread Tim Law
Walter

I’ve tried again and had success.

Previously I used the link in the Bankwest emailed invite with no success. This
time I opened Wallet and clicked the plus sign to add a card.

The card number came up correctly but my name was a short version and did not
contain my middle initial. Maybe check this for yours.

Following that there were two authentication processes. One to add it to
wallet, then another to authorise it with BankWest. I also added it to my Apple
Watch, so patience was required as I repeated various approvals.

My best suggestion is to ensure the scanned name matches the name in the card,
no extra spaces. If it’s not that, sorry can’t help.

Regards
Tim

Re: ApplePay / Bankwest

2019-02-03 Thread Susan Hastings
Hi Walter, I can’t help with the problem you are having, but I was easily able
to add two bankwest cards to Wallet following the instructions on the Apple
Support page. I’ve been using Apple Pay with my main bankwest card for the last
week.

This suggests it may be a unique problem with your card.

Have you researched how to delete the card from your Wallet app on the Apple
website?

Cheers, Susan.

ApplePay / Bankwest

2019-02-03 Thread FW
Good morning all,

Has anyone tried to activate Wallet with ApplePay Bankwest ?

I have tried for a week, it always fails and the message I get on the iPhone is:

“Could not add card, contact your card issuer”

Bankwest claims that the name on the card is different from the Wallet name -
so it can’t work and I should
change the Wallet name ???

The details in settings under “Payment & Shipping” are the same as on the card.

Apple help line tells me there is no Wallet name and have asked me re-scan the
card - but it is not working.
As soon as I open Wallet the same card comes up, Apple could not find a way to
delete it in the screen sharing
session we had. They asked me to contact Bankwest again because they think
Bankwests system is not authenticating
my card.

Deleting the Bankwest app did not make any difference.

It’s dead end at the moment.

Confused,

Cheers
Walter

Walter, I just checked, you should be able to delete the card by going to the
Wallet tab in Settings, not in the actual app.

Hi Blitto,

I wish you had told me before you signed up with ING. I would have sent you my
‘code’ for ‘Refer a friend’ and we both would have picked up $100 each added to
our ING accounts! ;-(

I’ve been with ING for many years and find them the most ‘forward thinking
progressive banking system’.

If any other member is thinking of getting an ING account, and want to get an
extra free $100 added to their Balance, email me “Off-List” for my code.

“this offer is only available until28 February 2018 and limited to the first

Re: ApplePay?

2017-10-30 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Tim and interested members,

Yes, I read Apple News and had read the article.

I had been a loyal CBA customer since leaving school and starting work back in
1960. This was the first time I was so disappointed with the CBA and spent
‘wasted’ time (similar to Daniel) campaigning for CBA to use Apple Pay.
I couldn't believe that CBA a 'forward thinking bank' was not keeping up with
technology.

So what did I do about it?
Macquarie Bank and ING Direct had Apple Pay so when the CBA didn’t follow, I
already had Macquarie and ING Direct accounts (as well as CBA accounts), so I
transferred most of my funds and payments from my CBA account to my Macquarie
and ING Direct so I've been able to use Apple Pay for quite some time… Pay
anyone… and with Wallet - Theatre Concert show seat number - check in for
flights ‘Boarding Pass' - etc.
I’ve found Apple Pay excellent service and with Touch ID… so easy! ;-)

You can bet if the Banks ‘invent’ this ‘instant paying app’… the Banks will
make money - the customers will pay!

Well that’s my 5c added to the topic ;-))

Cheers,
Ronni

Re: ApplePay?

2017-10-30 Thread Peter Crisp
Well done Daniel for having the guts to take them to task on this. I am ANZ and
have used Apple Pay for ages now and it is great. It might be marginal to lure
me away from an existing bank if I weren’t ANZ currently but as you pointed out
very clearly, some will make the move for it.

Their initial response seems a “standard response” but once you started using
the language as you know what you;re talking about, then they seem to have
retreated as their is no satisfactory response to justify their tardy response
to not finding a secure solution to move forward for their customers (loyal and
others maybe recently joining them as well).

Good luck with the campaign. Keep us informed of the “case study”.

Regards

Pete

Re: ApplePay?

2017-10-30 Thread Daniel Kerr
Yes I’m also waiting for Westpac to “hurry up” with ApplePay on their side.
I’ve been with Westpac since first moving to Australia (which from memory was
around 1998).
I actually sent them an email the other day about this, as their feedback for
it as been ongoing for the last 3-4 years saying “once it’s available, we’ll
look into having it”, and they seem to have a “blanket response” for it. Which
is quite poor.
This was my email conversation with them,….

My “Feedback” to them using their online form

When will Westpac add Apple Pay here in Australia. On twitter and other places
they say ¦it¦s coming¦, ¦we¦re looking into it ¦ etc. But this has been going
for the last 3 years at least. Plenty of other Aus banks have taken it on and
ANZ has had it for ages. (And even smaller banks have it!). Yet we¦re still
waiting. And the US and other places have it also. Why is there such a delay
when plenty of customers are requesting it , and plenty more leaving Westpac to
go elsewhere to get. As a loyal customer for over 17years even I¦ve been
considering it with such a delay. Please consider implementing it this year.

Dear Daniel,

Thank you for your enquiry in relation to Apple Pay.
At this stage Apple Pay is not eligible for Westpac Mobile Payments.
Currently Samsung mobiles are the only phones that have the appropriate phone
hardware required to support Westpac's Mobile Payments Solution.
While many other Android handsets have NFC functionality which allows the phone
to talk to the contactless card reader, they don't have the required ESE
security hardware (Embedded Secure Element) that we use to keep your payment
details safe.
Once handset manufacturers add ESE to handsets for NFC payments, Westpac will
then look to add its Pay functionality to these devices in Australia.
We are always looking at ways to improve, and always keen to hear feedback and
suggestions from our customers.
If this changes in the future you will be notified through advertising on our
website, through the Westpac app as well as notifications through email.
Thank you again for your feedback.
Yours sincerely

Hi

I find this quite surprising as Apple have a secure enclave (which even they
don’t have access to the data once it’s there), as they process via token’s
rather then details. So the secure enclave used for security is more then
sufficient for all other “details”.
Yet a lot of banks and places in the US and other countries can process Apple
Pay through it. And ANZ amongst many many many smaller banks can process Apple
Pay through it, and you’re using what appears to be a “poor excuse” that it
isn’t secure enough?
And online for about the last 4 years the Westpac “standard line of excuse”
that “we’re looking into” has just been ongoing.
I would have thought in this day and age of “customer service” that Westpac
would surely see that a lot of your customer base want it, and have been
requesting it for over 4 years - other banks can do. Yet Westpac can’t

The secure enclave for Apple Pay is completely different to Westpac’s own
Mobile Payments Solution (internet banking, payment app), so it would go above
the requirements security. Or is it more that because Westpac with the other 2
major banks lost their ACCC case against Apple in that Apple wouldn’t open the
secure enclave for them to use that we’re not seeing Apple Pay implemented?
I am a little disappointed in this “standard line of response” and I know from
other Westpac customers they are also waiting as well. (can only wait so long
before other banks start looking attractive). And given I’ve banked with
Westpac for over 17 years this is quite disappointing.

Kind regards
Daniel

Strangely enough, I never got a response back to that one,….lol. And that was
over 2 weeks ago now. ( I don’t think I was “that” rude,..I was just getting a
point across,…..lol.

So that’s all I’ve said to people, is to keep filling in the online feedback
form on their banks. I’d think if enough customers keep complaining about it,
something might happen.
Just very poor responses from them I felt. I really like my Westpac rewards CC
and don’t really want to move banks or get another card just for Apple Pay,…but
it’s quite annoying just to get the standard “card response” to a query……

Still, I suppose it could be worse, ….like the NBN mess….lol. :)
(Or maybe I’m just getting grumpier in my “old age”,….hehe).

Sorry for the long post /rant,…just my 2cents worth,…hehe

Kind regards
Daniel

I am still waiting !
