In The Shoplifters episode, the little old lady that Barney accused of
shoplifting said she always carried her Bible with her. Also, in A Wife for
Andy, Andy was trying to read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to Opie when all of
the ladies started showing up at his house.

When I was a teenager, my grandmother was given a white bible at church just
like Mrs. Mendlebright. In Mountain Divorce, Barney checked a book out of
the library on Mountain Folklore. That reminds me, my foot hurts. Wish I had
a buckeye in my pocket.

I checked out a book at the library today called Illegal Tender by Gerald
Hammond. It takes place in the Scottish Highland region of Fife. I bet it

Talking about books, on kindle there are a couple of books called Murder In
Mayberry. Andy is still the sheriff and a retired man is deputy. Together
they solve crime in Mayberry. The are pretty decent. Check on Amazon. They
may not show Mayberry as perfect as we might like
Laura Childs has a Tea Shop Mystery series set in Charleston, South
Carolina.
Carolyn Hart has a Death On Demand mystery series set in coastal South
Carolina.
Cathy Pickens has a Southern Fried mystery series set in South Carolina.
Kathryn R. Wall has a Bay Tanner mystery series set on Hilton
Paul, Like you I have read the 'Cat Who' books and loved them. Another series
you must read is the Liturgical mystery series by Mark Schweitzer. The first
book is 'The Alto Wore Tweed'. These books are set in a small NC town and the
Author lives in Tryon, NC. They are a laugh-out-loud mystery
My favorite mystery books are the The Cat Who series by Lilian Jackson
Braun. Each book title begins with the same three words, for example The Cat

I would love to see Disney do an animated one of his nature woodlands book

Can anyone help me? I'm hosting the Ladies Aid at my church in a couple of

answer: there were two different Andy Griffith Show coloring books produced,
both by Whitman, around 1961. One was about a centimeter thick, bore a cover
price of 50 cents, and had a blue cover with Opie holding

I would get a hold of a couple of bottles of Colonel Harvey's Indian Elixir.
They would enjoy that much more than coloring. Especially if you have a
