Green Stamps are alive and well in cyberspace. Go to: http://greenpoints.com.
They have a ton of companies who participate in the program.

I sure wish Bert Miller would go back to giving trading stamps with every
purchase made. I'm only two books of Blue Chip Stamps away from a nifty plastic
flamingo lawn set.

or Maya Angelou.
Personally, I'm guessing we'll see another set of classic TV stamps coming
down the road, and maybe Andy and Opie with their fishing poles are
featured in that series along with, say, Dick Van Dyke tripping over the
ottoman
or Mary Tyler Moore throwing her hat in the air
I think we should also lobby to get Barney Fife's picture on a
stamp. However, it would have to be with the stipulation that they were
never sold through an automated stamp machine. I don't think Barney would
want his image to be sold through a slot machine.

The Postal Service announced it was no longer requiring a waiting period of
5 years to make a stamp of a person and would make stamps for living
persons, so why not ANDY??? Why not the whole cast of The Andy Griffith Show?
A
whole sheet of stamps to commemorate the characters on the show
Well, if they do ever decide to issue any TAGS related stamps, you can rest
assured I'm not gonna buy one out of that machine in the post office!

There is an address where you can write suggesting different stamps. I
don't have it at this very moment, but possibly someone has posted it here
before. I'm all for the stamps, too, but I'm going to buy them at the
counter, too, not from one of those machines. I don't trust 'em...

If it was a fictional show with fictional characters, it could be
different,
but since the name carries Andy's name, no stamp!!
Actually, it's only Andy's image that can't be used
TAGS fans,
Trying to figure out who and why and how the Post Office decides who to honor
with stamps can be an interesting (and maddening) study. For instance, fans of
Louis L'Amour (at his death in 1989 he was the best-selling author in American
history, don't know if he's been passed) have

I just saw on my local news station that they are coming out with a I love

There's actually a whole series of stamps devoted to classic TV. It not

As usual another great Mayberry Christmas card from Allan! Thanks Merry
Christmas to you yours. Out here in the west ( Oregon), we can buy stamps at

Here in our town, the post office sends out an envelope about 3 times a year
and this is an envelope that can be used to order stamps by mail. That is the
way I get my stamps. Just put a check in the envelope, mark what you want and
they are sent back to you in about 3 days. No driving
I've tried for years to get the postal service to issue a stamp honoring
Mayberry; even suggesting using the courthouse with just the word Mayberry
below it instead of one of the stars, who has to be deceased 10 years. For
some peculiar reason (I wonder what causes that?), they have declined
As to postage stamps commemorating Mayberry stars, the rule has just been
changed. It used to be someone had to be dead 10 years before being considered
for a stamp, but from what I hear it has been lowered to 5 years. Perhaps
there could be one for Aunt Bea, Floyd, Otis, Howard, Ben Weaver
