Huush Emmett…You’ll wake Barney, and you know how cranky he can be when he

It just dawned on me why Mayberry was so peaceful quiet...nobody was
married!
Here are the single people who come to mind. Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd,
Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Ernest T. Bass, the Darlin Family, Helen, Thelma
Lou, Clara, many more!!!
In fact, the two married were Otis

The Digest certainly has been a bit quiet lately. I know these electronal
marvels are great but I wonder if there would be more posts in Allan used
thicker wires. Just might be worth the try.

I know, maybe I'm being picky but Thelma Lou really hit a sore subject with
me :-) Thelma if you were here I could go on for hours about this subject.
Didn't know you were so sensitive about that, Quiet Sam. (I mean
spirited--you're a very spirited person!) If you could go on for hours, you
Been reading the Digest loyally but someone needs to start a moulage. Even if
it's chit chat. Maybe we could fix up the old bandstand and have a concert.
That should take too much work to to.

I've been enjoying the speculations about how Barney got himself out to Sam's
farm. I had never thought about it, and appreciate those who have!
But here's something that has gnawed at my logical brain every time I have
watched this episode. After Andy has tried to phone Barney from the
I always figured Barney borrowed Otis's cow and rode that our to Sam's farm.
Just some clarification. Be aware that there are two Ken's who post on the
digest. From time to time I get an email asking about something I posted
and it turns out it is the other Ken.
Kind of spooky having two
There are cars parked in the background when everyone gathers around at the end
of the show. One of them is a Comet. Maybe Barney borrowed Sara's car in an
emergency.
Don't you remember? You were disectin' that grasshopper and you froze!

How did Barney get out to Quiet Sam's farm?
This is an excellent question and I think I've figured it out based on one of
the contradictions that appear in our hometown from time to time. We all know
that Barney bought his first car in Season Three from Hubcaps Lesh, but if you

Excellent observation - someone had the bucket on!
There ISN'T a way that Barney could have gotten there - unless this happened
around the time he had his motorcycle. Unless he borrowed Gomer's truck, but it
seems like Gomer would have come along.
Otis didn't have a car at the time and Floyd
I just noticed something in the Quiet Sam episode I had never thought of
before. Here's the situationAndy gets the call from Sam to hurry out

The episode Quiet Sam had a bad storm when Andy and Barney went out to his
farm.
In the episode with the gold truck Barney is wearing a wet raincoat when he

hotel, but it didn't appear to be raining until later. That is one of my
favorite episodes.

Non-quiet times in Mayberry
I enjoyed (as always) Ken Anderson's post about being in a noisy world,
and preferring the quietness of Mayberry.
There were a few times though, that Mayberry wasn't so quiet. Can you
help me with a list?

Ken Anderson and the Mayberry Deputy (David) write about peace and quiet

others, but I find my peace and quiet during each Mayberry Days.I've

Oh how I yearn for the peace and quiet of our beloved Mayberry. Seems there
